Each year, our annual educational conference brings together more than 600 nurse practitioners and health care professionals to exchange ideas and share strategies. It’s your singular source to review issues affecting the industry, learn practice-enhancing strategies, and work as a team to promote the vital work performed by nurse practitioners. The agenda is rich with stimulating information, powerful advocacy, and spirited solidarity, providing a comprehensive picture of today’s health care industry.

Throughout the conference, you’ll be in the company of experts who will provide the latest information on what’s happening in the nurse practitioner profession and pending legislation that affects NPs in California. When you’re not attending one of the many engaging sessions, you can explore the expo’s vast and varied exhibits, featuring technology specialists, pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment providers, insurance carriers, pharmacies, employers and schools for nurse practitioners, and more. Cancellations received by close of business on Monday, February 22, 2016 will receive a full refund, minus a $30 administration fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received after Monday, February 22, 2016.

Continuing Education Contact Hours This program will be submitted to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) for continuing education credit. The final number of contact hours will be determined prior to the conference.

AANP policy states that attendance must be documented to receive credits, so be sure to submit your online evaluation upon completion of conference.

*Opioid Part 1 and Part 2 Sessions Only: The Nurse Practitioner Healthcare Foundation is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. 2.5 hours of credit will be awarded for Opioid Prescribing: Safe Practice, Changing Lives (Parts 1 and 2). You must attend Parts 1 and 2 to receive credit for this program.

Dinner, entertainment, and unparalleled camaraderie are on tap for the annual Evening Event, and it all takes place in an atmosphere that conjures up images of summer nights at the beach. Think fire pits, a classic clambake, s’mores, and music that will make you want to paddle out on the nearest surfboard. Who knows? There might even be a fireworks display to add to the festivities. The Evening Event is a great opportunity to network, share ideas and feedback, and simply relax among friends and colleagues. Be sure to pack your flop-flops!

CANP 5K Fun Run/Walksponsored by planned parenthood

Saturday, March 19 6:30 – 7:30 am

Lace up your sneakers, grab your water bottle, and prepare to be invigorated. The crisp seaside air provides the ideal atmosphere for an easy 5K (3.1 miles) course. Run, jog, or walk with your conference buddies old and new to get your day off to a rousing start. Registration is $15 per person, and includes a T-shirt, water, and a post-race snack.

Want To Help Make the Conference the Best it Can Be?CANP is looking for volunteers to serve as moderators for our educational sessions — introducing the guest speaker and keeping sessions running on time. To get you up to speed, we’ll provide you with a moderator how-to guide, a biography of the speaker, and any additional information you need to know about the session. To participate, simply check the Volunteer Opportunities box on your registration form and we’ll contact you with more information.
