anyone interested in South Africa's period of apartheid, which came to an end in 1990.
• Waddle down to a penguin colony at the Boulder´s Beach.
• South Africa, and particularly Cape Town, are very well-known for their Operas and Theatres; spend an evening in the company of some of the most talented opera singers in the world.
• A good place to start your exploration into Cape Town´s past is the cities oldest building at the Castle of Good Hope, built as a fortress by the first white settlers, the Dutch.
Recommendations• After a good breakfast at the waterfront take a cable car to the
Table Mountain (be sure to check the weather for good visibility.)
• Spend the evening in Long Street and enjoy cocktails in “Julep” or in the “Waiting Room”.
• Beta Beach - situated a convenient 10 minutes’ drive from the city centre, this postage-stamp-sized beach is flanked by big boulders, which makes it great for swimming as well as uninterrupted sun-bathing.
• See colourful boats, the pier and lighthouse, in Kalk Bay
• Have lunch in the Harbour House, a simple whitewashed building overhanging the rocks
