WHAT IS BINGE DRINKING?• Consuming excess amounts of alcohol
in a short period of time• Most common incidence of excessive
alcohol use• Pattern of drinking that brings a
person’s BAC to 0.08 grams or higher• Typically happens when women
consume 4+ drinks within 2 hours

DOES BINGE DRINKING AFFECT ME?• Can be cause of several health conditions:
• Unintentional injuries (car crashes, falls, drowning, etc.)• Intentional injuries (domestic violence, sexual assault,
firearms)• Alcohol poisoning• STDs• Unintended pregnancy• Fetal Alcohol Syndrome in babies• High blood pressure, stroke, CVD• Liver disease• Neurological damage• Sexual dysfunction• Diabetes • In some cases, deathTO NAME A

What ways can you ensure your safety when drinking alcohol?
1. Stay hydrated!2. Know your limit!3. Don’t drink alone!4. Space your drinks over a time!5. Don’t leave your drinks unattended!6. Don’t drink and drive!7. Ask what’s in your drink!8. Eat while you drink!
Know Your Limit!
- Knowing how much alcohol you can consume without terrible effects is helpful.
- If you reach your limit, you can stop drinking- If a friend knows your limit, they can stop you as
well.- Try counting methods such as counting bottle caps
and tally marks.
Don’t Drink Alone!
- Drinking with a friend can help with your accountability
- They can stop you when you reach your limit- They can step in and make smart decisions when
you are incapable of doing so
Space Your Drinks Out!
- Try only consuming one drink per hour- Take sips of your drink- Drinking a nonalcoholic drink between
each alcoholic drink
Don’t Leave Your Drinks Unattended!
- Decreases chance of something “spiking” your drink
- Decreases chance of your drinking getting mixed up with someone else’s
Don’t Drink And Drive!
- Appoint a designated driver before as early as possible
- Getting behind the wheel intoxicated could lead to fatal car crashes
Ask What’s In Your Drink!
- There can be a variety of ingredients in your drink that you know nothing about
- Try to even watch your drink be made- Sometimes drinks may be made well enough that
alcohol is undetectable
