2016 SESG Annual Meeting June 16-18

It will be here before you know it...save the date! The

SESG is going “back in time” to Williamsburg,

Virginia. The venue is the Kingsmill Resort a AAA

2015Annual Meeting Recap

The meeting in Asheville was enjoyed by 62 endodontists, 36 children (under the age of 18) and many spouses, guests and

older children totaling 71. All total 169 attendees enjoyed the beautiful mountains, exquisite accommodations and fun events at

the Inn on Biltmore Estates.

SESG Business Meeting Minutes - June 19, 2015 (Official meeting minutes will be approved June/2016.)

Dr. Obermayr called the general assembly meeting of the Southern Endodontic Study Group to order at 11:35 a.m. and

welcomed everyone to the meeting. She gave a brief overview of the past year’s accomplishments by the SESG Executive

Committee, including numerous conference calls to conduct business, the continuation of entering financials into QuickBooks,

working on membership numbers and reviewing all aspects of meeting planning. She is confident the stability will continue

with the current officers as they strive to keep the SESG financially stable, and plan outstanding meetings that include family

fun.

There were no additional agenda items and the minutes from June 21, 2014 were approved.

Treasurer’s Report – Dr. Stuart Miller directed everyone to the balance sheet that was included in the agenda. He shared the

records are maintained by QuickBooks and he had a current profit/loss statement available for review available at any time

during the meeting.

Membership Report – Dr. Joseph Bernier presented the report as printed and reported the membership numbers had increased.

He recognized Dr. Worth Gregory and Dr. John Hartness, who between the two have over 100 years of membership in the

SESG. He welcomed all the new SESG members to the meeting and encouraged all members to reach out and invite new

members and encourage them to bring their children. A motion was made to approve the five applications for life membership

to the SESG (See membership report). Seconded. Motion adopted unanimously.

Reduced Meeting Registration Fee for Retired Life Members – After explanation from Dr. Obermayr, review of the proposal

set forth by the SESG Executive Committee, and after much discussion a motion was made that meeting registration fees be

reduced 50% for fully retired life members and anyone over 85 years of age can attend the meeting for free. Seconded. Motion

adopted unanimously.

Website Update – Dr. Bernier asked everyone to visit the redesigned website and that Marlinda will be adding pictures soon.

Bylaws Housekeeping – The changes were reviewed. Motion to approve the housekeeping bylaw changes. Seconded. Motion

adopted unanimously.

Incoming SESG Officer – The Steering Committee with approval from the members present welcomed Dr. Andy Huttula as the

new Secretary/Treasurer of the SESG. Dr. Gayle Obermayr presented the 2015-2016 SESG Executive Committee:

There being no further discussion a motion was made at 12:02 p.m. to adjourn the meeting. Seconded. Motion adopted
