CASE LIBRARY

Software library import from an external source in XLSX format . The source could be SAP Help portal, SAP Solution Manager, SAP SPRO or other dictionary tools.

The input data must be structured according the tree- db structure as showed on the right panel of this document (5 function levels)

Thanks to an internal definition table the system objects are automaticly categorized to the right object type. The score of the automatic conversion is 80%. Manual enhancements are done for the other 20%. In the future the categorization functionality will be improved based on experience with the tool.

CASE MODELER

A solution architecture is composed by selecting functionalities in the imported model from CASE Library. One can add complexity factors and volume factors giving extra precision to the sizing. All selected functionalities are automaticly given function points based on the international standards in the ISBSG database.

Preview the calculated function points and hours per architecture component.

From out the ISBSG database normes are provided giving the amount of hours per function point. ( see column DST FULL FPA) . The values vary per software platform. The values can be changed by the user according to his/her vision about his/her specific situation.(in the green column). In case the solution architecture contains more platforms one can apply more platform selections with corresponding norm hours.

CASE PLAN

Case Plan enables the user to generate a projectplan out of the composed solution architecture that was made by Case Modeler.

The input structure consists of the tree structure COMPONENT, FUNCTION, SUB FUNCTION, CONFIGURATION VARIANT. (PS. CASE MODELER accumulates hours and function points at the OBJECT LEVEL to the level CONFIGURATION VARIANT)

The user can configure the plan to his own wishes:

Own stage model (stages, activities, staffing

Resources: Internal and external resources per activity

Contingency : Applying contingency factors

Reduction: Applying reduction because of using standard templates

If the user would implement only a part of the whole solution architecture (sub project) , then Case Plan offers a feature for selection and deselection.

Iteration capabilities.Every change in the projectscope or project parameters results immediately to a new project plan. This enables the customer to define, refine , rescope or reschedule his project very quickly and smoothly.

Calculation operational costs.CASE PLAN also calculates the future operational costs. Out of the application size and parameters like number of users, expected incidents, release model etc. the costmodel is composed and calculated..
