Early Bird Registration: Register for the 2012-2013 membership year from April 14 June 15 to participate in early registration. There is a new patch program for every level of Girl Scouts called Include ALL Girls. This patch program is specifically designed for thinking about including all girls who have special needs ranging from ADHD to Blindness. Check it out at: http://www.girlscoutsofcolorado.org/inclusionComing April 1, new Spanish language program materials will be available for purchase. These books are for Brownie and Junior girls and their parents. They include information about Journeys, the cookie program, awards, and the full requirements for 5 badges. Partnership with VFW: Girl Scouts of Colorado is working on a partnership with the Veteran of Foreign Wars. If you are already collaborating with a local VFW, please let your Membership Manager know. Watch for more information about this potential partner!

A new study has been released from the Girl Scout Research Institute; Generation STEM: What Girls Say about Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. This study shows that 74 percent of teen girls are interested in STEM subjects and the general field of study. Further, a high 82 percent of girls see themselves as "smart enough to have a career in STEM." And yet, few girls consider it their number-one career option: 81 percent of girls interested in STEM are interested in pursuing STEM careers, but only 13 percent say it's their first choice.

Program UpdatesSTEM Video Game Challenge: Girl Scouts of the USA is proud to be an outreach partner with the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and E-Line Media to introduce the second annual National STEM Video Game Challenge open to Girl Scouts! This challenge invites game makers to show their passion for playing and making video games and aims to motivate children's interests in STEM. Up for grabs is almost $200,000 in cash and prizes, with multiple ways to win! The entry period is open through March 12th, 2012.
