Solomon’s Temple and the Glory of the Lord fills the house

II Chronicles 5:2 (I Kings 8:1)2 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

I Kings 8:10-1110 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD.

Isaiah 4:5And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.

Glory of the Lord stops priests from ministering

Christ our High Priest

Hebrews 7:23-2523 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to

continue by reason of death:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable

priesthood.25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto

God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Christ’s Intercession Ends...

Revelation 22:11He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Page 12: Sermon thou knowest not the time of the visitation

Isaiah 59:1616 And he (Christ) saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.17 For he (Christ) put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.

“There was No Intercessor”

Psalms 119:26 - It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.

Hebrews 10:26-29• 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there

remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,• 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall

devour the adversaries.• 28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:• 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath

trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

“Sunday is the mark of our Authority”

"Sunday is our mark or authority...the church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact." Catholic Record of London, Ontario, September 1,1923.

"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change (Saturday Sabbath toSunday) was her act...And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

"Protestants...accept Sunday rather than Saturday as the day for public worship after the Catholic Church made the change...But the Protestant mind does not seem to realize that...In observing the Sunday, they are accepting the authority of the spokesman for the church, the Pope." Our Sunday Visitor, February 15, 1950.

Page 21: Sermon thou knowest not the time of the visitation

• "Nowhere in the Bible is it stated that worship should be changed from Saturday to Sunday....Now the Church...instituted, by God's authority, Sunday as the day of worship. This same Church, by the same divine authority, taught the doctrine of Purgatory long before the Bible was made. We have, therefore, the same authority for Purgatory as we have for Sunday." Martin J. Scott, Things Catholics Are Asked About, 1927 edition, p. 136.

• "Question - Which is the Sabbath day?

• "Answer - Saturday is the Sabbath day.• "Question - Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?• "Answer - We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic

Church, in the Council of Laodicea (A.D. 364), transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday." Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 50, 3rd edition, 1957.

Rome’s Challenge“The Scripture, as in the written word, the sole standard of appeal,” this was the proclaimed platform of the Reformation and of Protestantism….This was the main issue in the Council of Trent…the Archbishop of Reggio came into the council with substantially the following argument to the party who held for Scripture alone…

“Now the Protestants’ claim, that they stand upon the written word only, is not true... PROOF: The written word explicitly enjoins the observance of the seventh day as the Sabbath. They do not observe the seventh day, but reject it. If they do truly hold the Scripture alone as their standard, they would be observing the seventh day … Yet they not only reject the observance of the Sabbath enjoined in the written word, but they have adopted and do practice the observance of Sunday, for which they have only the tradition of the Church. Consequently the claim of ‘Scripture alone as the standard,’ fails;”

Page 23: Sermon thou knowest not the time of the visitation

Rome admits the Truth

• "Sunday is founded, not of scripture, but on tradition, and is distinctly a Catholic institution. As there is no scripture for the transfer of the day of rest from the last to the first day of the week, Protestants ought to keep their Sabbath on Saturday and thus leave Catholics in full possession of Sunday." Catholic Record, September 17, 1893.

• “I believe in an America that is officially neither Catholic, Protestant nor Jewish; where no public official either requests or accepts instructions on public policy from the Pope, the National Council of Churches or any other ecclesiastical source; where no religious body seeks to impose its will directly or indirectly upon the general populace or the public acts of its officials”

Pope Francis says: working on Sunday is not “true freedom”

Speech in Molise, Italy July 2015

…he indicated that opening stores and other businesses on Sundays as a way to create jobs wasn't beneficial for society.

Francis said the priority should be "not economic but human," and that the stress should be on families and friendships, not commercial relationships. He added: "Maybe it's time to ask ourselves if working on Sundays is true freedom.“

Pope Francis: religion should not be confined to 'personal conscience‘ April 18, 2015

• (Vatican Radio) The orderly development of "a civil, pluralistic society requires” that the “authentic spirit of religion” not be “confined” to “personal conscience but that its significant role in the construction of society is recognized,” said Pope Francis in his remarks to the Italian president.

• Though independent, church and state share “the common responsibility” of meeting people’s “spiritual and physical needs…,” he said.

Jesus says accept my Righteousness

Isaiah 61:10 - I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
