You never know when someone may ask you about Masonry.
As we say goodbye to 2016 and look forward to 2017.
I would like to start in as your new Senior Warden by pay-
ing wages if aut be due, and Brothers and sisters there are
some due . First to WB Rich Porter for his highly successful
tenure as Master of our lodge, and his continued dedication
to masonry by filling the very important duties as Secretary
of our lodge. Which brings us to WB Don Williams, our
out going and now Secretary Emeritus who joins the illustri-
ous company of our own WB Bob Clark in this honorable
distinction.
A heart felt well done to the installing officers WB Jim Bekkevar, VWB Arnie
Finley, VWB Darrell Maxfield. The ceremony was powerful and really meant a
lot coming from you Worshipful Sirs, your ritual work is letter perfect and unsur-
passed in excellence. Thank You
Thank you to VWB Michael Dew Deputy to the Grand Master District 11 for
you attendance and supervision . You Sir bring light to any Masonic endeavor.
Last but not Least, thank you Brethren, Sisters, Family and friends for attending
our installation, remember this is your lodge and we are here for you.
Warmest Regards,
Brother John Allen
Our Installation was a great success thanks to the many
people who came together to make it happen. We had four
very special guests in attendance that day, RW's Danny
Parker and Eric Johnson and their wives, who came all the
way from our sister Lodge in Victoria BC, Aurora Lodge
#165. If you got to visit with them that Saturday, you
know what great folks they are. If you didn't, you're going
to get the opportunity to meet them and all the other breth-
ren of Aurora Lodge, because it's my intention to organize
a trip to Victoria this year. I've contacted WB M. Urbanoski and asked him to help
me choose a good date to visit, and I'm shooting for sometime in late Spring or
summer. More on this later.
From The West By Bro John Allen, SR Warden
Looking over some of the early references to the history of
Speculative Free Masonry, it is interesting how often it is
mentioned that we are all apprentices in the path or goal of
improving ourselves from the standpoint of self improvement
in virtue, to be building within ourselves a celestial temple of
morality and virtue.
In the middle of this month I went to a Celebration of Life in
Half Moon Bay, CA. for a dear friend of many years who had
passed away suddenly, but after doing one of the many things
he enjoyed, sailing. He was young , 75, very healthy appear-
ing, and intensely active. A real adventurer! The point of this story is that he ex-
celled at doing things for other people and benefits. He was in fact such a master at
such things that his spirit resonated with everyone he associated with. As an exam-
ple, the wife of a person I took to this event said as we walked in the door, "I almost
feel like we will see Ron here". The impressive thing was that as I mingled among
the large crowd in attendance, I heard the same or similar comments from several
others, none of whom had been near us at the entry. Many people chose to speak
about how Ron was always there for some important need of a person, group, or
cause. Although he was not a Mason as such not a member, he definitely was in
character with the quality of his brotherly love and Charitable activities. A Celebra-
tion of such a life was seen by the level of high regard for him by everyone there.
What a noble goal to seek in our lives.

JACOBS LADDER AN ALLEGORY
Elijah recording Jacobs Ascension up the ladder observed three
illuminated Angels stationed along the ladder to help guide him
on his journey.
The First Angel (light) issued him a 24 inch gauge and a trestle
board so that he could govern his time and plan his future and
goals upon the trestle board.
The Second Angel (more light) escorts him up the winding stair-
ways of three, five, and seven steps teaching him their uses and applying all the laws
rules and regulations taught along the way .his studies will bring him into the under-
standing of these wonderful tenants of brotherly love, relief and truth raising him into a
higher level of spiritual enlightenment and wisdom.
The Third Angel ( further light) polishes the Ashler so to speak guiding him along the
way raising his Spiritual Consciousness to higher and higher levels of attainment of his
total being in all his actions, displaying Love for everything that is created, compassion
for all beings without judgment whatsoever, forgiveness for all misdeeds including him-
self, then and only then is he ready for the angel to open the door into the sanctum sanc-
torum where he will hear the words ”Welcome Home Son ”I have another adventure

This has been a very busy month for your new 2017 Officers
Line. To begin with on January 12th or new Worshipful Master
took complete control of our regular Stated Meeting. Though
WM Fisher had not yet been installed we decided to have a
“Step up” meeting so our then Worthy Brother Fisher could start
the new year as Master. Worthy Brother Fisher did an excellent
job as Master and proved to all he is duly and truly prepared for
his new responsibilities.
On January 14, we celebrated the installation of our new 2017
Line. The installation was a well-attended affair and all present appreciated the work
and effort that went into making it a successful installation. We owe a debt of gratitude
to our Installing team consisting of VWB Arnie Finley, VWB Darel Maxfield, WB
Mike Cays and WB Bekkevar. Some special thanks are in order for the Seated Wor-
shipful Masters, Canadian Masons and our excellent Grand Lodge Members who took
time from busy schedules to attend and support our new Officers.
I assure you all your Officers are working hard to serve the Craft to the best of our abil-
ity and encourage each one of you to please contact any of us with any suggestion or
questions on the management of your Lodge.

The Rainbow Girls continue to be very busy. In February,
we are having our installation on the first. We will be taking a
trip to the High School talent show and having a mystery trip.
The girls are planning to help at the food bank for their ser-
vice project this month. February 15 is a Valentine dress-up
meeting with cookie decorating afterwards. The weekend of the 25 is full of Grand
Officer Receptions (GOR) for other districts.
Please join us anytime you are able.
Thanks to Bob Clark; he has setup our Feb 18th meeting at Mariner's
Café. 609 W. Washington St., Sequim, WA.

Bremerton Valley Scottish Rite Dates By VWB Jim Hansen
January at Pilgrim Chapter #157 brought us an Offi-
cial Visit from our Worthy Grand Matron Peggy Mills,
shared with Esther Chapter #19 from Port Angeles,
prefaced by a dinner for members and visitors. WM
Lessie Auletti, WP Charlie Brilhante and Pilgrim’s officers opened the
meeting in ritualistic long form, introduced our distinguished visitors
and conducted business, then turned over the chapter room to Esther
Chapter’s WM Judy Scott and her officers, who did ritual work and
closed the meeting. Pilgrim’s officers distinguished themselves and
made WP Charlie and me very proud of them. On January 14, we were
pleased to make sure that Sequim Lodge #213’s new Master, Pepper
Fisher, had hot food following his installation. Have a good year Pep-
per! We are now looking forward to initiating another new sister at
our February 2, 2017 meeting, keeping pace with our theme for the year
of “Watch Us Grow”. May the Force be with our entire Masonic Family--
