In addion, I have con- ducted scholarly presentaons at OISE/UT and York University on single-gendered schooling, the Tribes Process, as well as Cyber-Bullying prevenon. My name is Br. Shehzad Uddin and I am the Grade 6 teacher, as well as the Head of IFS- Durham. This is my 7 th  year teaching at IFS and my 4 th  year teaching Grade 6. I am also a PhD student at OISE/UT, com- pleng my degree in Educa- onal Administraon. My  journey at IFS started in 2006 when I had recently graduated from York University with a Double Honours B.A. in Eng- lish and Psychology, and a B.Ed. In my rst year, my Grade 3 class aained high EQAO results which signi- cantly contributed in IFS be- coming the number one school in Ontario. The follow- ing year, I taught Grade 4, as well as Gr. 10 and Gr. 11 Eng- lish, and Alhamdulillah, my Grade 10 students achieved 100% on their Literacy Test and our High School also be- came the number one in On- tario. Aer that, I took a study break to pursue my M.Ed and meanwhile, I remained part of IFS as a supply teacher and a volunteer. I returned in 2011 as a Grade 6 teacher and Alham- dulillah, my students achieved 100% results for EQAO in Read- ing, Wring, and Math. I taught Grades 3 and 6 for another three years, maintaining high results. My strong es with IFS are re- ected in my volunteering at the school since 1994. Since that me, I have observed many posive changes, strong growth, and bounful success- es this presgious instuon has undergone. These success- es are testament to Allahs Blessings, talented students, supporve parents, dedicated sta, and strong leadership. A student planner (school agenda) has been provided to each student. It is important for the stu-

dents to track all homework, assignments, tests, and projects in the planner and take home all the

necessary books and notebooks for homework compleon. Students are to complete the work to

the best of their ability and bring all work- whether nished or unnished- to school each day.

Please check to see what homework your child has each day and assist them by reminding them to

bring their work to school each day. If it cannot be completed for any reason, please send a notestang the reason(s) for incomplete homework. The agenda is also a tool for communicaon be-

tween the parents and the teacher, as there is space provided for wring important notes and mes-

sages.

teacher for Grade 6. For Phys-Ed

class, students need to have

proper running shoes. 

Materials for the Home

The following materials are

essenal for the home to

aid in the learning: the

Quran (Arabic with English

translaon), diconary and

thesaurus. Each student is

required to purchase a 1.5

inch binder with tab dividers

for each subject for the pur-

pose of storing any loose

paper received during the

course of the year. I urge all

parents to equip their child

with these items at the earli-

est possible me.

For Math, the Math Makes
