Education Center

Just for Spouses, 16 October, 1800 hrs, Education Center, 6 PM to 7 PM. This

is a briefing to help spouses develop financial and education plans to get started

or to complete a college degree.

The education center is moving to Buildings 1011 & 1012, which is directly be-

hind their current building. They will be at that location for about 16 months.

None of their current services will be interrupted during this transition.

UCCS has changed their In-state tuition policy. Students will only have to fill

out an In-state tuition form ONE TIME, instead of every semester as other

schools require.

In state tuition saved our Soldiers and Family members $10 Million last year.

MOBILE APP HELPS FAMILIES WITH MILITARY LIFE

The Department of Defense has a new smartphone mobile applica-

tion to help service members and their families manage the chal-

lenges of military life. LifeArmor has seventeen behavioral topics with

information, assessments, videos with personal stories and interactive

exercises to develop coping skills. LifeArmor can be downloaded for

free at the App Store, Google Play and on the Amazon Market-

place. LifeArmor is a comprehensive learning and self-management

tool to assist members of the military community with common men-

tal health concerns. It was developed by psychologists at the De-

fense Department's National Center for Technology and Technology,

known as T2, as a companion application to their AfterDeployment

website. The new mobile application brings behavioral health topics

from the website to smartphones and tablets, used by most service

members. AfterDeployment was launched in 2008 to help service

members returning from combat deployments. LifeArmor's behav-

ioral topics are: Alcohol & Drugs, Anger, Anxiety, Depression, Families

& Friendships, Families with Kids, Life Stress, Mild Traumatic Brain Injury,

Military Sexual Trauma, Physical Injury, Post-Traumatic Stress, Resil-

ience, Sleep, Spirituality, Stigma, Tobacco, and Work Adjustment.

More information about T2 is available at www.t2health.org. Further

information about LifeArmor can be found at www.t2health.org/
