Salvete Fellow Classy-

First Chickpea of the year! Get

Blazer’s Nationals Diary Entry Blazer’s Nationals

Experience

The following is a jour-

nal of my Nationals ex-

perience that took place

this past summer; July

25th through July 30th.

WARNING: The content

that you are about to

read may or may not be

exaggerated and or mind

-blowing. Brace your-

self.

Wednesday: It was 5:03

A.M. at the Hector Inter-

national airport, spirits

were high and the coffee

was brewed. Everyone

was anxious to set out on

yet another Nationals

adventure. The flight

into Minneapolis was

SICK. I mean if you

don’t like turbulence

then you would probably

have gotten sick on that

fight. At the Minneap-

olis airport, several

flights went their sepa-

rate ways and we even-

tually met up in Winston

Salem, North Carolina.

(Lis Fricker and I got to

go to New York on the

way but that’s a different

story.) The first thing we

did was take a nap…

PSYCH! Oh no! The

first thing we did was hit

up the mall. After that

we tried to go swimming

at our lovely hotel. In the

hallway, two delegates,

whose name’s won’t be

mentioned, were walk-

ing through the hallways

in only bathing suits

when an elderly man

gave them the dirtiest

look I’ve ever seen. He

then told the ladies that

they should “put some

clothes on” because

“there are Christians at

this hotel.” It was hard

to contain laughter ladies

and gentleman. So, after

Erin and Lauren put

some clothes on we at-

tempted swimming in

the outdoor pool, but

failed because of boys

doing flips on a slippery

surface. As a lifeguard, I

was deeply disturbed at

the sight. To conclude

the evening, there was

an enormous amount of

chilling, waffle housing,

biscuit eating, and sleep-

ing.

* Keep in mind that no

one sleeps at Nationals.

When I say sleeping, we

merely doze off for a

couple moments.

TO BE CONTINUED!

Member Profile The only reason I’m

writing a profile about

Lauren Singelmann is

because she demanded

I do so, and I had to

hush the incessant

whining somehow. So

here it is: Lauren, what

do I have to say about

her? Well for starters

she is probably close to

the world’s biggest

spaz. She still thinks

that because I left a

poster in her room af-

ter nationals she is go-

ing to be charged. Lau-

ren also has beef with

the NJCL (but don’t we

all?), after three years

of waiting patiently she

thought that

#NJCL2013 was going

to be over her birthday.

SED, they changed the

dates and now it is a

whole week away.

EHEU!! No JCL birth-

day for her! But alas,

there is hope, thank

you Pandora. In the

year of the Lord

MMXIV nationals

dates have been set for

July 28-August 2

(Lauren’s 18th literal

and 12th emotional

birthday)!! IT’S GON-

NA BE A PARTY IN

HOTLANTA. So

yeah… only like 674

days until that, totally

start prepping now…

But anyway more

about Lauren: She is

the worst tuber I have

ever seen, she’ll try to

tell you differently but

she is a LIAR. She

teaches Mason’s

(Strand’s son’s) reli-

gion class and a direct

quote from Mason on

her “Is she qualified to

do this?” Lauren also

has the coolest sister

on the planet, Jamie. I

feel bad for Lauren,

having to live up the

standards her younger

sister Jamie has set.

But it’s ok; she makes

a really good dancing

lobster and a really

good roommate and a

really good fellow-

terrible-golfer (even

though one time she

almost lettered). So

everyone, watch out for

Lauren! She will not go

unnoticed I promise!

Nationals Pictures

This summer, NDJCL participated in both a trip to Italy and Nationals in Win-

ston-Salem, North Carolina! Both trips, according to several anonymous

firsthand accounts, were a lot of fun. If you wish to participate in the next na-

tionals trip, it will be held in Las Vegas this summer. It will also be fun. If

you’re over 18, it will be even more fun. Here are pics of this summer’s JCL
