Sunday’s Focus
Ignition - the word means to be
set on fire or kindled. Paul told
the young pastor, Timothy,
“Rekindle the gift of God that is
within you.” How brightly is the
fire of God within you burning?
Do you need rekindling? The
Spirit of God wants to build a
passionate spirituality within
us. It’s time for ignition!

Fall Festival on Sunday
Thank you to all those who
planned and worked to make
our Fall Festival such a fun
event. It was a beautiful day. We
had a great time!
Do You Need Personal Prayer?
If you would like someone to pray
with you privately and confiden-
tially, you may approach the front
of the sanctuary after our wor-
ship.

“New Beginnings” Emphasis
Last Sunday, we began a spiri-
tual growth and stewardship
renewal process called, “New
Beginnings.” This process will
feature prayer vigils, worship,
Bible studies, a church-wide
dinner, and other opportunities
for us to grow in our faith, be-
come stronger in our manage-
ment of life, and indicate our
commitment to building our
own ministry center. This will
be great!
Prayer Vigil on October 14th
Plan now to stop by sometime
between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00
p.m. for a brief hour of prayer.
This Prayer Vigil is part of our
New Beginnings emphasis. You
will not be in the church alone.
We will pray for the needs of our
church, community, nation, fami-
lies and others. There will be a
prayer request booklet to guide
you through your hour of prayer.
You will be richly blessed by this
time with Jesus. Take part!
Attend
Our
House of
Prayer!
“The Master says that people of
strong faith are people of much
prayer.” - Andrew Murray. Faith
and prayer go together. Got faith?
Come to House of Prayer ~ this
Tuesday ~ 6:30 p.m.
What’s Next?
Adult Education is happening!
Studies include Spiritual Gifts,
The Mission of Jesus, Unashamed,
Life Management, and Uninvited.
See below. Be in the Word; it is
living and active; it gives us life!
High School Youth Study
Duke Clifton is leading our
youth through a discussion of
John Bunyan's famous work,
Pilgrim’s Progress. Sundays at
10:15 a.m. Encourage our youth
to attend!
NO Spiritual Gifts Study This
Tuesday!
Due to a large number of people
attending the LCMC Gathering in
Denver, we have canceled this
week’s Spiritual Gifts class. We
will resume on Tuesday, October
11th, 7:00 p.m. Join us for this im-
portant study. It’s time to de-
velop, discover and use your
spiritual gifts. What’s your gift?
My Faith Votes
Pledge to vote on November 8,
2016. No longer can we, as be-
lievers in Christ, afford to be in-
different or assume that, through
the actions of others, our nation
will be restored. It’s a period in
America’s history that’s now
calling for more. It calls for the
intentional commitment of all 90
million believers, who, united by
the conviction of our faith,
pledge to vote. Pledge to vote in
every election. Become informed
about your choices. Pray faith-
fully for America. Vote from a
biblical worldview. Go to:

Men’s Prayer on Tuesday at 6:41
Our Men Praying for Revival
prayer group meets at First Chris-
tian Church each Tuesday at 6:41
a.m. We finish our prayer time by
7:00 a.m. All the men of the church
are encouraged to attend. Bring a
friend.
Unashamed - Young Adult
Study
“Unashamed: Drop the Baggage,
Pick up Your Freedom, Fulfill Your
Destiny,” a DVD-based study, will
be the focus of our young adult
study on Sunday mornings, be-
ginning 10.2.16, at 10:15 a.m.
Shame can take on many forms. It
hides in the shadows of the most
successful, confident and high-
achieving persons. But there is
freedom in Jesus! Take hold of
the power of Jesus today and step
into the future - His future for
you - a beautiful, full, life-giving
future, where you can even be-
come a shame-lifter to others.
Live unashamed! Plan to attend
and bring a friend.
Prayer Request Form
We will pray for each other!
Please put your Prayer Vigil re-
quest(s) on the form in this Sun-
day’s worship folder. Then put
the form in the box on the table in
the foyer. You may also give it to
Ruth Bilau, Vicki Barr, Jody Ptac-
nik, Tami Christoffersen or Shelly
Hall. We will put your requests
into a Prayer Vigil Booklet to be
used by all who take part on Oc-
tober 14th.
The Mission of Jesus - 10.9.16
We have begun a new Focus on
the Family study, called “The Mis-
sion of Jesus.” The second session
will be on October 9th, from 4:00-
5:30 p.m. This course celebrates
the triumph of God’s kingdom in
our broken world. This is a 5-

Vander Laan, historian and theo-
logian. Study Guide is $10. Join
us!

Missional Identity
Missional is not an activity. It’s
an identity! You are God’s
woman, man or child. As Chris-
tians, we are not people who “do
ministry.” We are ministers. We
are not people who “do mission.”
We are missionaries. As we live
out our identity as missionaries,
we will start to see our everyday
activities as opportunities to be
witnesses for Christ. Be Jesus to
the world. Ready, set, go!
Missional Idea
Invite someone to our Prayer
Vigil on October 14th. This will
be a beautiful, quiet time to pray
and reflect on the Lord’s good-
ness. It will be a low-key, no
pressure time, when you can
pray for them, and with them.
CROP Walk on October 9th
You are invited to participate in
the CROP Walk on Sunday, Octo-
ber 9th. You may seek sponsors
for your walk, donate to the
cause, or simply participate in
the Walk. 25% of all funds raised
will go to the Washington County
Food Pantry. Individuals or
groups may participate in CROP
by walking, sponsoring a walker
or just by donating money to the
CROP Hunger Walk. Registration
and CROP Donation Envelop
“Turn-In” is 12:30 to 1:00 pm.
The Walk begins at 1:00 pm. See
Al Bilau or Linda Degner this
Sunday for forms and other in-
formation. Help combat hunger
and poverty on next Sunday.
IRA Required Minimun
Distribution (RMD)
If you are over 70-1/2 years old,
you can donate some or all of your
IRA’s Required Minimum Distri-
butions (RMD) tax free. Talk to the

FOR ACTIVI-
TIES AT FCC AS YOU PLAN YOUR
CLEANING SCHEDULE!!!! This is a quick reminder for the cleaning teams to check the paper calendar at FCC, located on left side of our church bulletin board. There is a bridal shower week one of October and a Friday wed-ding rehearsal with the wedding on Sat-
urday of week 4 in October. The fol-lowing week is a 6 hour prayer vigil for our church. Both churches have their electronic calendar which would be the most up-to-date. The paper calendar helps to coordinate the space usage for both churches. There have been times both churches were needing the same space, so adjustments were necessary.
