Collect of the Day

Eternal God, you have ordained and constituted in a wonderful order the ministries of angels and mortals. Grant that as your holy angels stand before you in heaven, so at your command they may help and defend us here on earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.

Silent Reflection

The Nicene Creed

Let us love one another so that with one mind we may confess: We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father. With the Father and the Son he is worshipped and glorified. He has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

The Prayers of the People

Confession and Absolution Dear friends in Christ, God is steadfast in love and infinite in mercy. He welcomes sinners and invites us to this Table. Let us confess our sins confident in God’s love and forgiveness.

Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbours as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us, that we may delight in your will, and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Almighty God have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all your sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness and keep you in eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The children are welcomed back to celebrate the Holy Eucharist with their families and the community.

The Peace The peace of the Lord be always with you. And also with you

THE CELEBRATION OF THE HOLY EUCHARIST

The Holy Eucharist is the sacred encounter for Christians with God’s total self-giving, a holy communion. Baptism is the sign and threshold in which we freely accept this gift, dying and rising to new life in Christ, anointed with the Holy Spirit. All who seek God are heartily welcomed to the waters of Baptism and so participate in the Holy Eucharist becoming “participants in the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4). We live into our baptismal life in sharing the Eucharist, becoming the Eucharist. We are His body: taken, blessed, broken, and given for the life of the world. If you do not wish to receive the wine, know that receiving the bread alone is a full reception of communion. Please refrain from dipping the bread into the wine.

Healing Prayer

To the right of the pulpit members of our Prayer Team are gathering to offer prayers of healing or intercessions to anyone who wishes.

Offertory Hymn 370 Songs of Praise the Angels Sang Culbach

The Prayer over the Gifts God of glory, as you have appointed angels to minister in your presence, so may all our worship bring you worthy praise. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.

and we offer our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving…all honour and glory are yours, almighty

The Lord's Prayer As our saviour taught us, let us pray:

The Breaking of the Bread

Creator of all, you gave us golden fields of wheat, whose many grains we have gathered and made into this one bread. So may your Church be gathered from the ends of the earth into your kingdom.

Behold what you are May we become what we receive.

The gifts of God for the People of God. Thanks be to God.

Agnus Dei Tone III

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

The angel's bread becomes the bread of humanity. The heavenly bread ends all symbols.

Oh, miraculous thing! The body of the Lord will nourish the poor and humble servant.

Prayer after Communion

Eternal God, you have fed us with the bread of angels. May we who come under their protection, like them, give you continual service and praise; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Glory to God, whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to God from generation to generation, in the Church and in Christ Jesus, forever and ever. Amen.
