Adoration of the Most
Blessed Sacrament
When He returned, He found them asleep. He said to Peter, "Simon, are you asleep? Could you not keep
watch for one hour?" Mark 14:37
Come and spend the most peaceful hour (or part of
an hour) of your week with Jesus. Each Friday
after the 9 AM Mass, the Blessed Sacrament is
exposed upon the altar in the Lower Church. The
recitation of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy will take
place at 3:00pm, followed by reposition. Please
join us. We are committed to having at least two
persons present at all times of Adoration. There is
a sign-in book in the Gathering Room near the
entrance to the Mary Chapel. If you can commit
just one hour or more, please contact Ursula
Koslowski at 781/729-6170 or email: [email protected].

Hearing Assistance Devices Available
Did you know that St. Mary Church has a Personal PA
Tour Guide System available for those with difficulty
hearing? The parish has three lightweight, multi-
channel systems that help listen directly to the sound
coming through the public address system. Volume
controls are easy to use. If you want to use the Personal
PA Tour Guide, simply come to the sacristy before
Mass to borrow a unit, and return it after Mass.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time
St. Timothy urges that “..supplications, prayers, petitions and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life.” Who among us doesn’t need to be reminded to be faithful to prayer and to rely on Christ our savior. That is especially true when the concerns of family or work or the world weight heavy upon us. Set aside ten minutes each day this week to sit quietly in prayer. Place your concerns before God, and be open to where God will lead.

Special Collection to Benefit
the Bahamas September 28/29
Cardinal Sean has authorized a special second collection
for the (arch)dioceses of the Bahamas and the United
States that have been ravaged by the destruction of
Hurricane Dorian. We have all seen the devastation
caused by this severe storm. The emergency needs of
the local Church in these areas will be great. We will
take up this collection on September 28/29. Checks
should be made payable to St. Mary Parish and clearly
marked on the memo line Hurricane Dorian Relief. As
information about the destruction and needs becomes
known, the Archdiocese of Boston will work in
collaboration with Catholic Relief Services for the
Bahamas and Catholic Charities USA for any US
diocese that has emergency needs. Please keep all of
our brothers and sisters impacted by the hurricane in
your prayers.
Mass in the Community
This week Fr. Augustin will be celebrating Aberjona
Rehab and Nursing Center on Monday. Please keep all
people who are not able to participate in Mass in your
prayers. If you or anyone you know is not able to get to
Mass and would like to receive the Eucharist at home, a
ride to Mass or if you could provide a ride to Mass for a
neighbor, please contact LeiLanie D’Agostino at
781/729-1965 or [email protected].

Out to Lunch Book Study
This gathering explores how, due
to our rigid preoccupation with
our busy-ness and routines, we
fail to sense or appreciate the
presence of God all around us;
consequently, we miss out on the
chance to tap in to common sense,
we miss out on the chance to love
God and others, and we miss out
on the chance to connect with
Jesus Christ as our Lord and
Savior. Moore highlights hallmarks of the Christian
faith that are essential and life-giving for all persons,
and which can be ours if only we will learn to recognize
God’s majesty when it is near and open our lives to the
change God offers.
If you wish to register for this unique and
meaningful book study, please contact LeiLanie
D’Agostino at [email protected].
Please type BOOK STUDY in the subject line of your
email. You will receive a reply with additional
information. Upcoming sessions will be on September
29 and October 13 from 2-3pm in the Parish Center.
The book is available for purchase on Amazon and
Barnes and Noble.
As We Say Thank You and
Good Luck to Fr. Joe Keville…
For the last three years, Fr. Joe Keville has called St.
Mary Parish his home. While not officially assigned to
St. Mary Parish, Fr. Joe has been a fixture here. His
kindness and good humor have earned him a place in all
our hearts. Fr. Joe will be relocating in the coming
weeks as he moves to St. Florence Parish in Wakefield.
Fr. Joe’s last day at St. Mary will be Sunday, September
29. Fr. Joe will be addressing all the Masses on
September 28/29, and there will be an opportunity to
wish him well in the Gathering Room immediately
following the 10am Mass on September 29. Please stop
by to thank him for his support during his time at St.
Mary Parish.

New Faith Formation Program
Our parish will be using a faith formation program
called the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies. This is a method of
instruction that integrates faith formation lessons with
the life of the parish community experienced in the
Sunday Eucharist. The content of the program flows
from the Sunday Gospel, and the children learn their
faith within the rhythms of the liturgical year—Advent,
Christmas, Lent, Easter and Ordinary Time.
Come check it out after all Masses this weekend in
the Gathering Room to hear and see what the buzz is
about! Children registered for St. Mary Religious
Education can bring home this week’s lesson and share
it with the family.

Today’s Reflection
As summer turns to autumn, many of the Gospel selections we hear concern themselves with the Last Judgment. Our worthiness for eternal life in heaven can be indicated by the way we treat each other and the way we handle our possessions. As we celebrate today’s Eucharist, let us reflect on whether we are using our wealth for the benefit of others or if our pursuit of wealth is blinding us to the needs of our neighbor.
