Starting September 10th, parents must provide written documentation of transportation changes.

Healthy Kids Learn Better!

Welcome to Bowley Elementary School! Your child’s health is my priority. I look for-

ward to working with our students, parents, and staff throughout this school year. The

following is important information that I hope you will find helpful as you start off the

coming year.

If your child will require medication during the school day or will need a special diet,

please see me for the necessary documents to have completed by your child’s physician.

No medication (prescription or over-the-counter) will be dispensed at school without

the proper consent from the parent and child’s physician. Please note that medication

to be administered during the school day must be brought to the health room and

signed in by the parent. Medication may not be transported to or from school via your

child.

There may be times when your child will need to stay home from school due to illness.

DoDEA and Fort Bragg Schools’ guidance regarding absences are to exclude children

with any of the following: Fever ≥ 100º F; vomiting and/or diarrhea; flu symptoms; or

signs of other communicable conditions. Working together we can minimize the impact

of illness at our school.

In compliance with DoDEA immunization requirements, all students have 30 calendar

days from enrollment to obtain the necessary immunizations for school. Notifications

of incomplete immunizations have been sent home for grades Kinder – 5th grade with

preschool immunizations letters to follow coming home on their first day of school.

Please check with your clinic as to whether an appointment is necessary for an immun-

ization visit as these appointments are filled quickly. Please visit our website for the

most complete information about all school health services.

Safety Reminders: Changing Transportation

A MESSAGE FROM THE SCHOOL NURSE

We want to remind parents that our number one priority is the safety and secu-rity of our students. Therefore, as of September 10th, phone calls to the front office requesting change of a child’s transportation will no longer be permitted. Parents must provide documentation when making a change to the child’s transportation in the afternoon. That may be in the form of a time stamped note sent in with your child, a letter or email describing the change, the dura-tion of the change and who will be responsible for receiving the child. 1.) You may email your child’s teacher the information or 2.) email the following front office personnel:

[email protected] --registrar

[email protected] --secretary

[email protected] --principal

Please send in your requests as soon as you know that you will have a change. Emails sent after 2:15 may not get checked in time for dismissal. Please be timely.

FLES NEWS FROM MS. SENA

Hola and bienvenidos! Welcome back to school. I am looking forward to

another wonderful year at Bowley. Once again this year we have two Span-

ish teachers ~ Ms. Sena and Ms. Aguilar de Chavers. Students in grades

kindergarten through third grade receive Spanish class twice a week. We

are so very excited that we have a room this year!!! This is a great oppor-

tunity for students to be immersed in the Spanish language and culture.

Students in Ms. Sena’s class will be participating in Class Dojo. This is a

wonderful opportunity for parents to communicate with me as well as see

what we are doing in class. Please be on the lookout in your child’s folder

for login information. Thank you for your support and I can’t wait to help

your child learn a new language.
