When genuine thankfulness is detected within a soul the Heavenly Father rejoices. This increases the bond of love between the individual and God. As is human, one or the other may have grounds to suggest there is lack here or their in their lives. This surely applies to all people. Andersen AUSTRALIA DISTRICT NEWS Dear Brothers and Sisters, In May this year the New Apostolic Church conducted one of the greatest events ever for the youth of our church - the European Youth Day. This was in fact a four-day event which youth from all over Europe and other countries of the world were invited to. The experiences that we made amongst the youth who participated are literally indescribable. The atmosphere was constantly charged with joy and thankfulness and the desire for learning and progressing in faith-life was very much in evidence. Any concerns that may have existed over the perceived relevance of God's work amongst the next generations were totally dissolved. It is planned that our youth will also benefit from some of the things that took place in this spiritually spectacular event. Congratulations belong to the Northrhine-Westphalia District (Germany) for organising such a worthwhile event which will surely have a positive effect on the future lives so many young people. Once again the 'New Apostolic Calendar' shows Thanksgiving Day approaching. As is the practice in our district, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the first Sunday in October (4 October this year). The Thanksgiving Day celebration for us is neither a ritual nor a custom, it is a sincere focus on our personal thankfulness to God for all that He has done and all that He does for us. True thankfulness is reached when one acknowledges what one has and has a deep and genuine gratitude for it. Such thankfulness completely dispels any and all complaints and discontent. This is very much a personal matter and can certainly not be feigned. Edition 24/3 - September 2009

FijiDuring July 2009 Bishop Green visited the Pacific Island nation of Fiji, where he conducted Services, seminars and meetings across twoislands, Veti Levu and Vanua Levu. During a Divine Service in the Natalau church, the Bishop baptised an adult and two children in theNatalau church. The man to be baptised had previously lost half of his right leg in an industrial accident and has great difficulty with mobility. He was so moved by the experience of his baptism that he made his way to the front of the altar, where he could have his sons byhis side.

In the congregation of Bucalevu the church building, which has no electric light, was filled to overflowing and the little children sat quietlyat the side of the altar while the choir sang with joyful hearts. More than 100 souls gathered for the Service, which was also attended by anumber of guests.

Bishop Green also spent an evening in Nasinu with the Suva youth, including a number of youth who were confirmed this year. The congregations of Fiji now look forward to the visit of their District Apostle and Apostle in November, when they will assemble together inSuva for a festive combined Service and Sacred Concert.
