With seven buildings on 40 acres, the land offers great opportunities for growth. That will enable us to use the entire main house for treatments and classes. God knows the plans He has for us, and He made sure to provide a chapel on the property. Perched on the top of a hill is a concrete building that will be the perfect place for us to meet and praise our Heavenly Father. In March 2007 I found myself sitting on a hospital bench

wondering how my life could have changed so suddenly. My father had just died, and I was faced with a serious question: “Why am I here?” In the quietness of my prayers, Jesus whispered the desire of His heart into my ear: I was to devote my life to His cause alone.

His call led me to the European Bible School in Norway. Through the medical missionary training there, my love for the health message grew. When I returned home to Honduras, the mixture of my skills in interior architecture and my desire to spread the gospel through health inspired me to seek a way to start a lifestyle center in Honduras. This desire prompted me to join the team at Vida Internacional.

I had been working here only a short time when a family expressed their interest

in donating a vacation home to God’s work. Located just 45 minutes from the capital of Honduras and 20 minutes away from our project’s mission school, the beautiful property was perfect for a lifestyle center.

After several quiet years, Mt. Akagi Institute in Japan has restarted

its health evangelism ministry with gusto. Several seminars in the last year culminated in a one-month LIGHT* health evangelism course in August.

Of the 12 who attended, five travelled from Taiwan to join. Two of them were Christians, seeking more truth. At the end of the program, one made the decision to join the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

The final “exam” for the course was a health expo, held at the biggest mall in town. In just five hours, 133 people visited the expo. Each person was given the opportunity to learn more about health and the Great Healer. In Japan, where less than one percent of the population is Christian, this is an important step in reaching out to people.

This month Mt. Akagi began its first lifestyle session in many years. One of the LIGHT students, who is considering joining the church, stayed for the session. Her mother joined her at the lifestyle center, and both are receiving physical healing and taking the first steps toward a spiritual awakening.

Though workers and funds are short, the dedicated staff at Mt. Akagi is eager to reach out to their unreached brothers and sisters. Through health evangelism and education, they are sharing the good news of Jesus’ soon return. p
