What are Assistive Listening Devices?

n An assistive listening device (ALD) is any type of

device that can help you function better in your day-

to-day communication situations. An ALD can be

used with or without hearing aids to overcome the

negative effects of distance, background noise, or

poor room acoustics. So even though you have a

hearing aid, ALDs can offer greater ease of hearing

(and therefore reduced stress and fatigue) in many

day-to-day communication situations. Hearing aids +

ALDs = Better listening and better communication!

Set 840S + BA 300 + HD 408 Bundle

n This bundle offers DVA clients an alternative to the Set 840-TV or the Set 840-

S on its own. As well as a spare battery, the bundle includes a pair of

traditional Sennheiser ‘over the head’ Headphones (Model HD 408).

n To use as a hearing loop monitor simply plug in the Induction Loop as

provided, and set your hearing aids to the “T” setting (i.e. traditional use of

product).

n However, sometimes clients may prefer to not use their hearing aids e.g. late

at night, when their aids are in for repair or the batteries are flat, user comfort/

preference, etc. In these circumstances using the headphones is as simple as

unplugging the Induction Loop from the top side of the 840S receiver, and

plugging in the HD408 Headphones. The user can continue to use the

induction loop as the lanyard, or alternatively place the receiver in a pocket,

use the supplied clip or dedicated lanyard.

n This product bundle may suit clients who are not comfortable with the Set840-

TV placement around the neck. Please note, that this Bundle may not suit all

clients as there are obviously additional connection steps, and complexities

involved. The simplest unit to operate still remains the SET840-TV. RRP - $595
