Four years of high school boils down to one day, gradu-ation. A day of laughter, tears, and pride because you did it! You made it through Common Tasks, SLO goals, NECAPs, SATs and ACTs, not to mention countless homework assignments, tests and quizzes. It seems like the end mostly because graduation marks the end of all of those standardized tests and assignments, but that’s not true. Graduation is the beginning of a new amazing, and exciting chapter of your life, so enjoy it.

Enjoy this summer. Have fun with friends who you probably won’t see as often when everyone goes to col-lege. Do random and fun things, but laugh while do-ing them and don’t get arrested! Take pictures of every-thing. You’re going to want to look back on this summer and on these four years of high school because I don’t know about you but they were pretty great whether you realize it today, or you come to realize it sometime in the future.

I remember walking into West freshmen year when ev-erything was new and exciting…and scary as hell. We were all so young, probably a bit immature, and then all of a sudden, like the flick of a light switch, we’re sitting in the auditorium during the first week of school our se-nior year where everything is once again new and excit-ing and scary as hell.

We all thought we would want it to go by fast so we could graduate and move on quickly to college, but then we re-alized it actually does go by fast. Soon you’re at your

last homecoming football game, cheering on the team and storming the field when they win. Then it’s time for Winter Ball, and that speeds by also. This whole time they are telling you to get ready, apply to college, get a job, apply for scholarships because the real world is coming and you better be ready, and now all we want to do is hit the brakes, slow down and go back to homecom-ing, go back to Winter Ball, and relive a very amazing four years of high school. But you can’t. So graduating Class of 2014, I challenge you to live in every moment from here on out to the fullest. Don’t live with regrets of what you could have and should have done. Just en-joy what you’re doing now. Enjoy walking across that stage when your name is called and everyone is clapping for you. Enjoy this summer with friends and family and make sure it’s filled with great memories. Enjoy pack-ing up and leaving for college because even though it’s probably going to be the scariest thing you have ever done, you’re going to be just fine.

Have fun making memories, Class of 2014. I’m proud of you; proud of us for the things we have accomplished as a class. Although we’re all moving on to different things that we’ll succeed at, we will always be Falcons and Falcons fly together.

I wish you the best of luck in all you do.
