What should you be doing to get ready for college?

• Repeat the appropriate college-entrance exam (ACT or SAT) in September and October, IF NECESSARY.

• Visit (if you haven’t already) your top 3-5 college choices.• Apply for admissions! Many universities have December 1

deadlines. Scholarships awards are offered only to students who are admitted. (You MUST request a transcript from guidance when you apply.)

• Update your resume. This will be helpful in completing applications and should be given to any person writing a recommendation.

• Familiarize yourself with the College & Career section of the EHS website. This is where scholarships and scholarship applications will be posted.

• Visit the College & Career Center. Get to know Mrs. Fraser and Mrs. Mitchell. They can be a great help to you!!

• Get on Mrs. McClenny’s email and/or Remind 101 list.• Listen to announcements or check the calendar outside the C&C

Center for college representative visits.• Athletes should talk to coaches about registering for the NCAA

Clearinghouse.• CHECK WITH ADMISSIONS OFFICE OF THE SCHOOLS WHERE YOU

APPLIED AND CONFIRM THAT YOUR APPLICATIONS ARE COMPLETE!

• Request PIN identification numbers from Free Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) in Nov./Dec. online at: www.pin.ed.gov

AL College Application Week Campaign

• Goal: For all seniors to complete an application for admission to a college (2 year or 4 year) by November 7th.

• If you complete an application prior to Nov. 3-7, bring or email “proof” to the C&C Center to get added to the “I APPLIED” list.

• If not before, sign up for a time to apply during the week of Nov. 3-7 in the C&C Center. There will be several locations to apply with assistance during this week.

• At the end of the week, all students on the “I APPLIED” list will be entered into a drawing for a cash scholarship or IPAD.
