The Sui Northern Gas Company Ltd(SNGPL) announced load sheddingschedules never met the expectation
of the manufactures and also not stricton the schedule being announced.
According to official of All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) 60 to70 percent of the industry has been

High interest rates
Pakistan’s monetary policy forindustry is very much tight. There isalmost 14% high mark up rate coupled
with 20% inflation results in the highercost of doing business.
This also results in the noncompetitiveness of the productprices and so reduces the market
share.
