Biomodels are identical replicas of the patient’s inner anatomy. By using them the planificación of medium and high complexity surgeries can be considerably simplified.

Surgeons normally need to visualize in their minds the different anatomical structures, basing themselves on plain images of something which actually isn’t plain.

By implementing 3D printed models surgeons can have in their hands the anatomical structure of interest before operating on the patient

CT CHARACTERISTICS!The CT scan must be completely exported, never segmented.

!The format of the files must be the original Dicom.

!The tomography must be of a superior quality than the standard (HiFi or HiRes).

!The CT scan should be full-arch, never partial.

!The intensity of the tomography must be maximum of 85kw.

!Any possible temporary metallic elements should be removed prior to the CT scan.

!A Dental cleaning procedure should be performed prior the CT scan.

!The patient’s buccal state at the time of the CT scan should be the same as the moment of barrier surgery.

!CT scans should have a maximum thickness of 0.3 mm as well as a gap of 0.3 mm.

!If the CT scan is of the lower jaw, it is recommended to mark the mental nerves in the CT scanner software.

2. It is mandatory to send the file using a codification (not the real name of the patient) to follow the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

3. Segmentation and design. Use of software specialized in segmenting medical images. Additional 3D programs are used to obtain the most suitable anatomic model.
