FEATURES OF CRP APPROACH

SHG Formation by Community Resource Persons (CRPs)

CRPs are women SHG members,

who have come out of poverty

Should have benefitted socially and economically, through SHG.

May or may not be literate. No involvement of Departmental Staff in formation of

SHGs Through this approach, Poor come out of poverty in 6-8

years.

94% of the members availed loan from SHGs

70% of loan utilized for their livelihood enhancement

Average amount of loan availed per member is Rs 24838

Increase in income per SHG member is Rs 1380 per month

45% of the SHG members purchased assets from the loan

taken from SHGs

66% of the SHG members income enhanced .
