Self-Care Refers to actions and attitudes which contribute to the maintenance of well-being, personal health, and human development.
It includes any intentional actions you take to care for your physical, mental and emotional health.
Self-care is unique to every individual.

Vicarious traumatization• A cumulative transformative effect or condition
experienced by staff as the work with specific populations of survivors of traumatic life events (McCann & Pearlam, 1990; Pearlam & Saakvitne, 1995).
Self-Neglect • Lack of self-care in terms of personal health, hygiene
and living conditions.

• The concept of Hierarchy of Needs was first introduced by American Psychologist Abraham Maslow in a 1943 paper “A Theory of Human Motivation”
• This hierarchy suggests that people are motivated to fulfill basic needs before moving on to other, more advanced needs.
