Types of Submersible Pump

Choosing the correct pump for the job.

Drainage Pumps

• Most commonly used pump type in construction• Pump water with less abrasive solids, like clay & sand up to

(approx. 7-12 mm)• As sand is quite abrasive to the pump, it must not be too

concentrated.

Sludge Pumps

• Suitable for pumping solids and sludge (semi solid material.)• Can pump solid sizes between 32 & 80mm (up to the size of a

tennis ball.)

Stainless Steel Pumps

• Used in applications with corrosive fluids such as copper or gold mines

• Handles water with pH values 2-10• Suitable for arduous conditions

Slurry Pumps

• Handle abrasive solids in suspension, like gravel or concrete• Frequently used to move sand in dredging• If equipped with an agitator they can break up solids to mix

with water to make slurry and pump even quicker.

Plug and Pump

• Easy to use, plug and pump!• Use a larger pump or several smaller pumps to

pump bigger areas efficiently• Smaller pumps can be carried to different

locations on site.
