    POPULAR TOURIST DESTINATIONS

    Valletta, the capital city of Malta is a UNESCO heritage and is inextricably linked to the history of the military and charitable Order of St John of Jerusalem. Built after the Great Siege of 1565 and named after Grandmaster Jean Parisot de la Vallette, this fortified city has hundreds of monuments, all within a relatively small space, making it one of the most concentrated historic areas in the world.

    PLEASE NOTE that public transport and cars, others then residents cars, are not allowed inside Valletta. Electric taxi or tourist train can be found in the city.

    Mdina, also known as the Silent City, has been inhabited since 700 BC firstly by the Phoenicians and later by many other civilizations, giving to it a medieval character. The city has only 300 inhabitants and although is small in size, it has much to offer. Some of its attractions are: The St Pauls Cathedral, Vilhena Palace, Palazzo Falson, Palazzo Santa Sophia, and many others, including amazing views from its hills of large part of the island.

    PLEASE NOTE that cars and public transport are not allowed inside Mdina!

    Hagar Qim is one of the oldest megalithic temple complexes in the world dating from 3600 BC. It is a UNESCO heritage and is situated in the Southern edge of the island.

    Golden Bay and Ghadira (Mellieha) Bay are popular beaches visited by plenty of tourists for its crystal waters and fine sands. Both situated in the Northern parts of the island, Golden Bay can be found outside of the village of Mgarr , while Ghadira Bay is in Mellieha.

    Dingli Cliffs are situated just outside the village of Dingli and are the highest point of Malta, reaching 300m above sea level.

    LE DESTINAZIONI TURISTICHE PI POPOLARI

    La Valletta, la capitale di Malta, patrimonio dellUNESCO ed strettamente legata alla storia dellOrdine militare e ospedaliero di San Giovanni di Gerusalemme. Costruita dopo il Grande Assedio del 1565, prende il nome dal Gran Maestro Jean Parisot de la Vallette. Le centinaia di monumenti presenti di questa citt fortificata, tutti raccolti in unarea relativamente piccola, la rendono una delle aree storiche pi concentrate al mondo.

    ATTENZIONE i mezzi di trasporto pubblico e le automobili dei non residenti non possono circolare allinterno di La Valletta. In citt si possono trovare taxi elettrici o trenini turistici.

    Medina, anche conosciuta come la Citt Silenziosa, stata abitata fin dal 700 a.C. prima dai Fenici e da molte altre civilt in seguito, fino ad assumere il suo definitivo carattere medievale. La citt conta solo 300 abitanti e, per quanto piccola, ha molto da offrire. Ecco alcune delle principali attrazioni: la Cattedrale di San Paolo, il Palazzo Vilhena, il Palazzo Falson, il Palazzo Santa Sofia e molte altre. Dalle sue colline offre inoltre una vista mozzafiato su gran parte dellisola.

    Golden Bay and Ghadira (Mellieha) Bay sono due famose spiagge, scelte da un gran numero di turisti per le acque cristalline e la sabbia fine che le caratterizzano. Sono entrambe situate nella parte settentrionale dellisola: Golden Bay poco lontana dal villaggio di Mgarr e Ghadira Bay a Mellieha.

    Le Scogliere di Dingli si trovano appena fuori dal villaggio di Dingli e rappresentano il punto pi alto di Malta, raggiungendo quota 300 m dal livello del mare.

    BELIEBTE SEHENSWRDIGKEITEN

    Valletta, die Hauptstadt Maltas, ist ein UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe und untrennbar mit der Geschichte des wohlttigen und militrischen Ordens des Heiligen Johannes von Jerusalem (Johanniterorden) verbunden. Valletta wurde nach der groen Belagerung von 1565 gebaut und nach dem Ordensgromeister Jean Parisot de la Valletta benannt. Diese befestigte Stadt beherbergt mehr als hunderte Monumente auf relativ kleinem Raum, was Valletta in puncto geschichtliche Sehenswrdigkeiten zu einer der reichsten Stdte weltweit macht.

    BITTE BEACHTEN SIE, dass der ffentliche Verkehr wie auch Autos innerhalb Valletta nicht erlaubt sind, ausgenommen Anliegerautos, nutzen Sie daher die Elektrotaxis oder Touristenzge.

    Mdina, auch die Stille Stadt genannt, ist seit 700 v. Chr. bewohnt, zuerst von den Phniziern und spter von vielen verschieden Kulturen, welche Mdina ihren mittelalterlichen Charakter verlieh. Heute hat Mdina nur 300 Bewohner, und obwohl die Stadt sehr klein ist, gibt es viel zu sehen, darunter die Kathedrale St. Paul, der Vilenha Palace, der Palazzo Falzon, der Palazzo Santa Sophia und vieles mehr. Von den Hgeln aus bietet Mdina zudem atemberaubende Aussichten auf den grten Teil der Insel.
