INT. YOMI'S RIDE - DAWN

Yomi cruises a bit drunkenly. His phone rings, he rummages for it causing the ride to swerve a bit before finally seeing it. He takes it.

YOMI(slurring)

Hel...lo... Hey Alex, I am fine. Are you home yet?... Well, that's good for you... Fuck!

He swerves the car recklessly.

YOMI (CONT'D)Yes, I am here, wassup?... Hey because we shared a few drinks together don't give you the leeway to run me down... I am no kid, I said I am fine, I will be home soon if there's no traffic that is... No! No! Alex don't go, let's gist some more... About that stupid girl called Becca of course... What o you mean you've heard enough... That's better of you, because I can't just get over the fact that I fell that fast for her... No! You haven't heard enough... Don't go...

The line engages.

He turns up the stereo and nods away.

EXT. STREET - MORNING

A plugged ear-phoned and track suit clad Lynn jogs along the street. She stops to pick her ringing phone.

LYNNHello, good morning ma... I am fine, thank you ma. And you, daddy and Ige?... That's good to hear ma... The case you say ma? ... I thought Bolaji must have conveyed recent decisions we both agreed on about the case ma... No mummy, I think its better you hear it from Bolaji... No, no, no, ma, it’s not like that mummy... A livid Yomi honks intermittently. He alights his ride.

YOMII swear I will kill this girl today. A man can't enter his house when he wants because of one razzed girl...

He bangs on the gate on and on. No response.

Yomi gets leans into his ride, opens the glove box and retrieves a bunch of keys and heads for the gate.

EXT. IYA IBEJI'S GRILL-STAND - MORNING

Iya Ibeji's stunned to see a slumbering Baba Agba in a corner as she resumes for the day. Angry, she wakes him up to life.

IYA IBEJIWake up! Baba Agba!! Look at this old man o!!!... Baba Agba.

Baba Agba wakes up.

BABA AGBAAh you are here at last my daughter. Hope the morning met you well?

A sweaty and drenched Lynn walks in and collapses on the couch.

She heads for the fridge for a bottle of water. She takes a very long gulp.

Please do forgive me for all our quarrels and do come back, its not the same without you at all... I have even taken to jogging to fight the loneliness...

She switches on the TV and flips through different channels.

Who?... You miss who?... Look Becca, though I miss you plenty it hasn't gotten to the extent of dementia, why the hell would you be saying you miss and need him... Open your eyes babe and be smart for once in your life... You ain't heard nothing else and I take my words back... Lynn's infuriated by the call. She dishes a last salvo.

Lynn angrily cuts the call, tossing the phone to the couch.

INT. YOMI'S HOME - LIVING ROOM - MORNING

The TV is on and audible.

A peeved Yomi enters to see a sprawled Iyabo on the couch, clad in her night wear.

They both move pieces.

Bintu looks at Ige as he plays with his toy. She takes a glance at Toyin tweaking with his radio transistor.

Yomi laughs on as his phone rings. HE CHECKS THE CALLER ID ITS BINTU. He frowns and hisses, ignoring the call.

They start re-arranging the pieces, when the phone rings again.

ALEXWho is that? Pick your call.

YOMIIs it not that pest of an ex mother-in-law. I wonder what she wants now.

ALEXI guess we'll never if you don't pick the call.

Alex is lost. Yomi picks the call.

Frowns are etched on Yomi's brow as they talk on.

Baba Agba retrieves money from his footwear and hands it to Iya Ibeji who refuses to take it.

She stands her ground.

Yomi and Alex play another game of chess. Yomi's not in it, he hisses repeatedly.

Yomi suddenly swipes the pieces to the ground to surprise of Alex.

Yomi mumbles on. Alex stares at him.

YOMIA ghost is better.

ALEX

ALEXI haven't either, so I wouldn't know.

She's afraid and runs back as she collides with a panting Iya Ibeji by the gate.

Bintu halts and scans the area.
