CHURCH PROPOSAL: SECURITY SURVEILLANCE REPORT 2010

Background

How will surveillance technology benefit our church? Let’s look at how to maximize the use of technology in securing our church, together with the right plan we will improve our current level of protection to provide a visual surveillance system for supporting the membership of Calvary Temple AG.

Page 3: Security surveillance 2010_final

Realize the importance of this technology with a better concept in computer literacy. Example: What is the difference between a LAN and a WAN? Answer- Geography (Local Area vs. Wide Area).

Prepare a budget and project proposal for this technology in today’s dollars and time.

Goals

Page 4: Security surveillance 2010_final

Make a plan and then work the plan for future expansion in church security. The funds need to come from projects and fund raisers; not relying on the general budget alone.

Offer a final recommendation for a new system based on our research.

APPROACHES 1. Look for examples of surveillance

technology in use in the work place and home, along with other ministries.

2.Manage technology, when is it time to replace, upgrade, stand fast, or rethink technology strategies?

3. Time Stamp awareness with technology some IT(Information Technology) force updates while others bring obsolescence sooner than later. We only want to look at truly upgradeable systems that offer future upgrades.

APPROACHES 4. Technology can lower our long range cost

in out-reach ministry within our community, 5. WEB sites speak 24-hours a day 7 days a

week to shut-ins and members that have to leave our area, either temporarily or permanently.

We can examine technology cost on popular web sites like Tiger Direct.com, New Egg.com, and Best Buy.com. We could purchase an 8-camera Digital security system with DVR recorder, software, and support for under $ 1000.00 on several popular models.

TIMELINESS IS NEXT TO GODLINESS

I would like to see this or a compatible system installed as soon as possible; security does not wait.

We can see this according to Security + 2008 In Depth by Mark Ciampa “A threat agent is a person or thing that has the power to carry out a threat.”, or that a “…vulnerability or weakness that allows a threat agent to bypass security.”

Set a time frame for this system to be installed no later than the end of February 2011.

THE FUTURE BENEFIT

Future dual benefit will come in using the right Camera in the Sanctuary we could broadcast our services live over the internet; however this is not part of our immediate goal.

Page 11: Security surveillance 2010_final

TIMELY BENEFIT

Once the above goal is in place it will be easy to set up the recording of our service in Digital Video for future use in outreach ministry. I would like to see this in place by the end of 2011.

Vision, that will let us be a leader in our community to reach new people, current members and their families.

WHAT DID YOU LEARN TODAY

There will be a learning curve, along with time necessary to work out bugs with any system, trust me on this.

Static IP Address

WHAT’S THE NUMBER FOR 911

There will be a lot of questions.

Write them down for training class.

All questions are valid & deserve an answer.

“Positioning a camera at a main entrance is a good idea. This way you can monitor people coming in and out of your main area.
