EDM & Safecom® together...The EDM Solution SC8016 security system provides sophisticatedelectronic surveillance for your home or business. Incorporating the verylatest in wireless communications SAFECOM®, provides a high speed packet

telemetry signalling via a UHF data radio. Together, both systems providesuperior reliability and performance in alarm systems. Where othersystems rely solely on the telephone to transmit signals to the alarmcentre, SC8016 uses wireless telemetry signalling ensuring acontinuous monitoring of your system all the time.

How fast is Safecom® compared to adialer based system?All messages such as open and close reports,system status events and alarm messages aretransmitted from your site to the monitoringcentre in less than a quarter of a second. Likewe said, high speed signalling. Diallers maytake 30 seconds or more, depending on thesystem used. Safecom® is almostinstantaneous.

Double the supervisionSafecom® is so intelligent, your system listensinto communications with other Safecom®

systems in your area. If your system stopshearing Safecom® �air traffic� to other systems,it will use the phone line to warn the monitoringcentre that there is a problem. This effectivelygives you constant supervision, irrespective ofthe poll rate set for your system. Even if yoursystem was only polled once a day, your systemis constantly verifying its communication paths,both via the phone line and the wireless path.That�s real security!

What happens if my phone line getcut?The Safecom® system even supervises yourphone line and will alert the monitoring systemif your phone line is cut. If your wireless systemfails, we report wireless failure via the phoneline. In any case, as your system is supervised,your monitoring centre will know if either pathhas failed as your system is constantlysupervised.

How much does Safecom® costcompared to other supervisedsystems?Safecom® will cost a little more than aconventional dialler system and the monitoringfee will naturally be a little more than a diallersystem, however, when you factor in thereduction in call charges you will probably besaving money. At the same time, you will havea more secure system.

Do you know the real cost of your current monitoring system?If you have a commercial system with say four partitions, your dialler system may make more than40 calls per week to the monitoring centre at local call rates. If your system has multiple open andclose reports per day, the costs are even higher. With Safecom®, all call costs are eliminated as allreports are sent by wireless. No matter how many �calls� per day, there are no call charges.

What other benefits does Safecom® Provide?Safecom® provides a dual redundant path forcommunications. Not only does it prove a supervisedcommunications path, it can also provide a �dualredundant path� for emergencies. With Safecom®, yourprimary communications link to your monitoring centre iswireless, however, we can still connect your system to thephone lines as a back-up communications path. If onesystem is compromised, you have two communicationpaths to your monitoring centre. This is called dualredundancy�.
