1. First, click on the Apple menu in the top left-hand corner of you screen. Next, select System

Preferences from the menu.

2. In the System Preferences window, click on the Network icon.

3. In the Network window, click on the Wi-Fi icon on the left-hand side of the window. Next, click

on the Advanced… button in the lower right-hand corner.

4. Next, on the Advanced-Network window (shown below), make sure that Securewireless is not in

the Preferred Network list. If there is a Securewireless entry,

select it and click the (-) icon. Next, and click on the (+) icon to re-configure the network.

5. You will now be prompted to add a Wi-Fi network profile. Enter the following information

Network Name: Securewireless. Security: WPA2 Enterprise

(Note: The Network Name is case sensitive)

6. After you change the security type, you will then be prompted to enter additional information

for a Username and Password. This is the same username/password combination you use for

the Central Login Service. Leave the selected 802.1x setting on automatic. Next, click OK in the

lower right-hand corner of this menu.

7. Securewireless should be listed first in the Preferred Networks list. If it is not, drag

Securewireless to the top. Next, click the OK button.

8. Next, turn off the Wi-Fi by clicking the Turn Wi-Fi Off button.

9. Next, you will be prompted if you wish to make system changes in the following dialog box.

Select Apply from the options available.

10. Turn the Wi-Fi back on by selecting Turn Wi-Fi On.

11. During the authentication phase, you will be prompted to accept a certificate from

amigopod.ad.uc.edu. Click Continue to accept this certificate, as it is required to connect to the

network.

12. You will then be prompted to type in your Mac Username and Password to apply changes to

the Certificate Trust Settings. Next, Click Update Settings.

12. Your status should be Connected under Wi-Fi on the left-hand menu. Your 802.1x profile should

be set to Default, shown next to the Disconnect button.
