IntroductionSecureSphere version 7.0 offers a new level of flexibility by enabling different license options for product lines to match the deployment and need of individual organizations. This guide is designed to help existing SecureSphere customers understand the migration path to version 7.0 as well as the different product options now available.

Product Entitlement to SecureSphere 7.0SecureSphere 7.0 is a natural evolution of previous SecureSphere products. As such, there is a seamless transition for existing customers to migrate to version 7.0. While some product names may change, customers will find the migration delivers the same core functionality offered with their previous version along with all the enhancements offered by version 7.0.

Database Monitoring Gateway 5.0/6.0 –> Database Activity Monitoring 7.0Customers are entitled to an upgrade to Database Activity Monitoring. Customers will enjoy identical database auditing functionality along with discovery, assessment, classification, and risk management enhancements offered by version 7.0.

Customers migrating to 7.0 will be entitled to upgrade to the Data Security Suite which represents the similarly full suite for version 7.0, licensed with all the capabilities of a SecureSphere gateway.

Frequently Asked QuestionsWhy should I upgrade to SecureSphere 7.0?» SecureSphere 7.0 introduces new risk

management features for data security. An innovative graphical Risk Explorer enables customers to quickly view risks to data in their organization and prioritize security and auditing tasks. In addition, SecureSphere 7.0 offers enhanced data discovery, classification, and database vulnerability assessment. SecureSphere 7.0 also offers additional product and upgrade options over previous SecureSphere versions.

Will I have to re-train all my SecureSphere Administrators and users?» No. While every new version requires

some education to learn new capabilities, SecureSphere Administration activities will remain identical to previous versions. In fact, new Risk Explorer, Discovery, and Assessment features should reduce administration for data security tasks.

Will my yearly maintenance costs change?» No. SecureSphere 7.0 entitlement also includes

identical pricing. Maintenance renewals will be identical to your current SecureSphere products under valid maintenance contracts.

Will I have to upgrade my hardware for SecureSphere 7.0?» For the majority of customers, No. Current

generation of hardware supports version 7.0. Older appliances may not support version 7.0. Contact your Imperva representative for more information about your specific hardware.
