UTILITIES

The Contractor shall be aware that the existing utilities shown in the plans were surveyed prior to the design of this project and might have been relocated or replaced by a new utility facility prior to construction of this project, might be relocated or replaced by a new utility facility during the construction of this project, or might not require adjustment and may remain in its current location .

The Contractor shall contact each Utility Owner to confirm the status of existing or proposed utility facilities and invite all Utility Owners to a preconstruction meeting . Contact information is provided herein .

The Contractor shall comply with SOCL 49-7A - One-Call Notification System For Excavation Activities.

Clay Rural Water System

Owns and operates the water distribution system within the project limits, as shown on the plans. An existing water main is situated in public ROW from ST A 12+ 70 to 33+45 at approximately 35' L; ST A 99+00, 55' L to 111+12, 74' L; were reported to be at a sufficient depth to not require adjustment. Utility agreement contract #716673, completion date was revised to April 15, 2020 due to wet ground conditions and the resulting schedule back-log.

Clay Union Electric

Owns and operates underground (UG) power distribution and transformer cabinets within the project limits, as shown on the plans. Utility adjustments were addressed in utility agreement contract #716693. Relocation expected to be completed by July 15, 2019. The contractor must notify Clay Union Electric 72 hours in advance of grading the temporary slope cut near ST A 154+00, R to protect existing utilities in place during construction.

Vast Broadband

Owns and operates fiber optic cable in the north ROW of SOSO, from the beginning of the project east to 470th Ave. It then turns north on the west side of 470th. Also, on the east side of 470th there is an existing fiber that crosses SOSO then runs east in the south ROW of SOSO. The contractor must notify Vast Broadband 72 hours in advance of grading the temporary slope cut near STA 154+00, R to protect existing utilities in place during construction .

Long Lines/Jefferson Telephone Company

Owns and operates UG fiber optic along the north side of S050, installed at an average depth of 36"-42". An access hand-hole at STA 39+10, will need to be adjusted to meet finish grade. Adjustment will occur during construction through coordination with the roadway contractor.

South Dakota Network Communications, Inc.

Owns and operates UG fiber optic within the project limits running along the south side of S050 and service road crossings. Near ST A 220+00 there are 2x1 .25" HOPE conduit road crossings, one conduit is vacant and the other contains fiber to a cell tower on the north side of S050. The 1.25" HOPE conduits are at an approximate 5' depth and are not expected

to be impacted by the proposed roadway construction. An existing cable at STA 163+44-44' R will need to be lowered and will need 2-3 week notice from the roadway contractor to relocate. An existing vault at STA 257+20-L will be lowered during construction through contractor coordination . The contractor must notify SON 72 hours in advance of grading the temporary slope cut near STA 154+00, R to protect existing utilities in place during construction .

Centurylink

Owns and operates fiber optic lines along south ROW of SOSO that should not require adjustment. Existing copper exchange cables are along the north ROW that will be relocated into private easements prior to construction, pending acquisition. Plan to begin relocation all 112 mile sections within ROW acquired in August of 2019, to be completed by winter. Any 112 mile section with ROW disputes will need to be cleaned up in conjunction with the roadway construction. The contractor must notify CenturyLink 72 hours in advance of grading the temporary slope cut near STA 154+00, R to protect existing utilities in place during construction.
