GENERAL REGULATIONS
(For the conduct of competitions at QCAS affiliated Queensland Agricultural Shows)
Subject to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Association Inc. and the Gympie District Show Society Inc, the following general regulations shall apply.
GENERAL REGULATIONS AND ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRIES
1. Judging will be performed by a judge or panel of Judges appointed by the Gympie District Show Society Inc.
2. The attention of Exhibitors is drawn to the fact that entries are accepted subject to the Rules, By-Laws and Regulations of the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc. and the Gympie District Show Society Inc in addition to the special regulations which appear in this schedule. Copies of the Rules and By-Laws may be obtained upon application to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies or the Gympie District Show Society Inc.
3. No Refunds will be made after close of entry.
NOTICE TO INTENDING EXHIBITORS
4. Entries for the upcoming Gympie District Show can be made as described for each section in this schedule. Entries submitted other than on the correct form or online will be returned to the exhibitor and, unless all requirements are complied with, and the forms returned to the Gympie District Show office by completion of business on the closing date, as shown in this schedule, they will not be considered.
5. Notwithstanding the provisions of General Regulation 6, late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the Section Chief Steward.
6. Entries are accepted subject to the Rules. By-Laws and Regulations of the Association, in addition to any Special Regulations, which appear in the association’s schedule.
7. Exhibitors whose entries have not been accepted shall be advised accordingly and entry fees refunded.
8. The exhibitor irrevocably consents to the Association publishing or reproducing in any manner whatsoever any particulars or information in relation to their exhibits: the publication or reproduction may be in a printed form or visual image through electronic means and/or on the internet.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
9. The information provided by Exhibitors is used by the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Associations Inc. and the Gympie District Show Society Inc. to organise, process and conduct competitions at the Gympie District Show. By entering such competitions, you consent to their personal information being used for this purpose including this information being available to sponsors, breed associations, the media, the public, promotional purposes, archival purposes, published in publications and could be made available to other third parties for the purpose of promoting the Queensland Agricultural Show movement, or as otherwise required by law. Exhibitors have a right of access to and alteration of personal information concerning themselves in terms of the Privacy Act. This may be done by contacting the QCAS Chief Executive Officer or by writing to the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc.

WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY 10. All Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Societies Inc. affiliated Associations
Showgrounds are designated workplaces within the meaning of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011 and exhibitors/ competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under their direction or control, including their contractors or sub-contractors comply with all requirements of the act and the Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Association Inc. holds each exhibitor responsible to discharge its obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during occupation by the exhibitor/competitor of any area of the affiliated Agricultural Associations Showgrounds.
11. Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff, volunteers, family, other exhibitors, Agricultural Society Staff, show visitors, children and any person foreseeably affected by the presentation of their exhibit.
12. Risk’s identified by exhibitors/competitors will be eliminated or controlled by the exhibitor/competitor and particular attention will be paid to ensuring public safety and safety of other exhibitor/competitors.
13. A “No Smoking Policy” will be strictly adhered to by exhibitors/competitors and exhibitors/competitors are advised that the use of Primus stoves, any heating or lighting appliances of a like character, or any naked light, is strictly prohibited in pavilions.
14. Any exhibitors/competitors intending to bring electrical equipment to the Showground’s will be required to ensure that such equipment is fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools and appliances have been inspected by a licensed electrical contractor and currently tagged. The use of double adaptors is prohibited and all power boards must also be tested and tagged.
15. Any exhibitors/competitors will comply with the requirements of the Act and it Regulation and Standards in every other respect. This is essential for the safety of all exhibitors/competitors and the general public. The Act imposes very severe penalties in the event of non-compliance with its provisions. Any exhibitors/competitors who do not comply will not be allowed to exhibit at Queensland Chamber of Agricultural Associations Inc, affiliated shows.

PRIZES AND GST
17. The Australian Taxation Office has deemed that GST is payable on prizes if an Exhibitor is registered for GST and enters as part of a business enterprise.
18. The information an Exhibitor provides on the Application for Entry determines whether GST is applicable.
19. Any prize stated in this schedule does not include GST.
20. GST will not apply:
a) If an Exhibitor enters an Exhibit as a hobby or private recreational pursuit: or
b) If an Exhibitor enters and Exhibit as part of a business enterprise, the Exhibitor has an ABN, but the Exhibitor is NOT REGISTERED FOR GST.
c) If an Exhibitor enters an Exhibit as part of a business enterprise, the Exhibitor is not entitled to an ABN as the business or enterprise is not operating in Australia.
21. GST will apply if an exhibitor enters an Exhibit as part of a business enterprise, the
Exhibitor has an ABN, and the Exhibitor has an ABN, and the Exhibitor is REGISTERED for GST.
22. Where GST applies, the Association will pay the prize money quoted in this Schedule plus 10% GST. The Association will issue a recipient created tax invoice.

ENTRY FORMS:
Completed entry forms are to be in the hands of the Secretary, Gympie District Show Society, Showgrounds, Exhibition Road, Gympie by Friday 29th April 2016.
When entry fees are paid, an exhibit A & B label will be issued. Exhibitor must slip ‘A’ portion inside plastic sleeve with exhibit (do not use tape or staples) and keep ‘B’ portion to pick up exhibit after the Show.

DELIVERY AND PICK UP OF EXHIBIT: Exhibits are to be delivered to the Show Pavilion on Friday 6th May from 2.00pm to 5.00pm or Saturday 7th May from 9.00am to 12.00 noon. No late entries will be accepted.
Exhibits are to be picked up at the Show Pavilion on Sunday 15th May from 10.00am to 11.30am. Otherwise the Section Head may be phoned and special arrangements made.
Please note: Exhibits must not be removed/taken from the display prior to collection time.
RULES:
1. Male or female exhibitors may compete in this Section
2. In classes 1 and 2, the child’s age is to be clearly displayed on the front of the entry – age at 30th April 2016
3. Exhibitors are required to ensure permission is given by any third party persons appearing in photographs or mentioned in journaling due to exhibits being on public display
4. In all scrapbooking and card making classes, general construction, layout, overall neatness and cleanliness and presentation of work will be taken into consideration
5. Entries will be limited to two (2) entries per person per class
6. Entries to be accepted entirely at the owner’s risk. While all due care will be taken with exhibits the Show Society will not be responsible for any losses or damage to exhibits or for any unauthorised* display of photographs or journaling. (*Refer rule no.3)
7. Once an entry has won a prize at the Gympie Show it is not eligible to enter again at the Gympie Show
8. Exhibits cannot be entered in, nor compete in more than one class
9. Work must not be more than two (2) years old
10. All work must be that of the exhibitor
11. Pages must be of either 12”x12” (300mmx300mm) or 8 ½”x11” (A4) finished size and have a suitable form of clear page protection. Unless otherwise specified, a page exhibit may consist of either a one (single) or a two (double) page spread. Unless double page presentations are securely joined together and noted on the exhibit label as a double page presentation, they will not be considered for judging
Cards (excluding Class 21**) may be of any dimension up to A5 (210mmx148mm) finished size, and must be presented in a clear cellophane bag. The inside of card entries will not be displayed or judged. **Class 22 rules see schedule
12. The exhibitor’s ticket containing name and phone number of owner must be placed inside the plastic sleeve with page/card exhibit. Do not tape or staple label to exhibit, simply slip it in the protective sleeve/bag with the exhibit
13. Exhibitor’s details including a contact phone number should be penciled on the back of each item
14. Where there is a shared placing, the next prize money will be added and divided equally

15. At no time must the judge be made aware of the name of exhibitor. Under no circumstances must this information be given to the judge, or any information likely to influence his or her decision
16. Stewards reserve the right to reclassify any entry deemed to be entered in the wrong class and to amend any class where items are not comparable for judging
17. The Show Society reserves the right not to display certain exhibits in instances such as: exhibit fails to meet class criteria; space is limited; permission issues are raised.
18. Should any dispute arise for which no specific rule is laid down, the matter in dispute shall be referred to the Section Head, whose decision shall be final
SPECIAL NOTES FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION: Pages present better in page clean page protectors rather than zip-lock bags
Indicate where hidden journaling is used as judge may overlook your journaling effort and/or page might be disqualified
Instructions to stewards for special displaying requirements are acceptable and the note will be removed for display

CLASS 23: ARTIST TRADING CARD SET
BACKGROUND: Artist Trading Cards are individual art miniatures which are traditionally given away as a
sample of the artist’s work. These cards are strictly to be 2.5 by 3.5 inches in size (64 x 89 mm), same as baseball and collectible cards. Each card is individual however shares a common theme as a set. Artists generally sign and date the back and may also include a title and contact information.
Must include a set of 4 ATCs (tip – it is a good idea to use a common theme or style)
Cards are to be mounted on an A4 sheet and placed in a clear protective pocket
