    DM-50For Repairing of Cast Iron

DM-50 is a graphite type electrode

using mild steel core rod. Its weld

    metal shows high carbon content.

Then it results high hardness, so itis suitable for welding the parts

    where machining is unnecessary. Its

fusibility with case iron is excellent.

    Applications

For repairing of cast iron parts where

    machining is unnecessary.

    Instructions for Welding

    1. The preheat temperatures vary in

accordance with kind, shape and size of base metal.

    2. Preheating over 200C is appropriate to prevent cracking. Slow cooling is recommended after welding.

    Applications

Preparing joints to be welded, back

    chipping, removal of defects and

unwanted sections, cutting of risersand gates from castings.

It is especially suited for the cast

    iron, stainless steel and nonferrous

metal which are diffcult to be cutted.

    Instructions for Operations

    1. Strike the arc by the angle less than 30 for the base metal and then proceed forward by pressing firmly on the metal.

    2. Hasten the manipulation speed when face chipping, back chipping and shallow groove should be made. If the deep groove is

necessary, it is better to repeat gouging operation several times with shallow groove than one final gouging operation for obtainingbeautiful surface.
