Secondary research into my target audience

Transcript of Secondary research into my target audience

  • 1. SECONDARY RESEARCH INTO MY TARGET AUDIENCEI have decided to analyse the data from the UK Film Council to identify the national public that enjoythe type of film I am trying to do. Once Ive stablished this, I can start doing the research necessaryto identify the type of audience I have to refer this film. Considering their age, gender and socialclass group, as well as the things they like and dislike in films of that type. My group has chosen theComedy/Sport genre. This image shows the estimated level of film consumption of the national public aged more than 16years old (16 incuded) in the last three months. As we can see in this graph the majority of the publichave seen between 6 and 25 being the 42 percent of the total film consumption. After seeing how many films the national public watch the last three months we have to see whattype of films public enjoy watching. This table shows the percentage of people enjoy watching films. As we have chosen the Comedy/Sport genre it is going to be half main stream, half niche, this iscaused because the comedy genre is a mainstream because a lot of people goes watch those films tothe cinema, and sports is a niche genre.

2. This image shows us the demographic types of people that enjoy watching with different genres. Aswe have chosen comedy/sports genre our target audience is men of all ages, sports because genderis only liked by men because 22 percent of men of all ages, compared to eight percent of womenwho go to see the sports genre. In the other hand comedy involves both men and women, but thegenre sports make us focus on men. On the issue of whether they are parents or not, is very even, with the same gender in sport (it is the fifteen percent), and in the comedy genre it is the sixtypercent. Those persons have to be from the C1 social class. 3. This image shows us what the general public consider favourite. As we can see in this image thegeneral public consider comedy as the most likely to be their favourite, and sports as a genre whichis not likely to be a favourite because of the three per cent shown. This tells us that our film can beone of the favourites but it can also not be one of those. 4. As I show before our genre can possibly be one of the favourites. As we have chosen comedy/sportsgenre our target audience is men of all ages, sports because gender is only liked by men because 3and 5 of men of all ages. In the other hand comedy involves both men and women, but the genresports make us focus on men. On the issue of whether they are parents or not, is very even, with athree and five per cent in sport, and in the comedy genre it is the sixty percent. Those persons haveto be from the C1, AB and C2 5. These photos make our target audience male people who are from the C1. These photos tell us thatour film can be one of the favourites but it can also not be one of those. My conclusion is that ourbudget is going to be medium and we must focus in men, and use male humour.
