Purpose: To appoint Nivardo Vivar to Junior Senator Position
Whereas: there are currently vacancies in the junior class Whereas: Section 1100.002 of the bylaws states that, “In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements of the petition and release waiver. The candidate must be nominated by a Senator of the class in which the vacancy occurs and shall be approved by 2/3 vote of the Senate.” Therefore: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SEANTE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING Section I: Nivardo Vivar shall be appointed to the position of Junior Senator with all the duties and responsibilities of the position Section II: THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE STUDENT SENATE SITTING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT. x_____________________

Purpose: To appoint Curtis Taylor to Freshman Alternate Position Whereas: there are currently vacancies in the freshman class Whereas: Section 1100.002 of the bylaws states that, “In the event a vacancy occurs within the Senate because of resignation or failure to petition for office, the vacancy shall be filled by individuals who have completed the requirements of the petition and release waiver. Purpose: To appoint Sukhpreet Singh to the position of Junior senator.
Whereas: there is currently a vacancy in the junior class.

On this Twentieth Day of September, 2011 Purpose: To establish an intermediate form of restitution for President Ross Kressel’s
actions Whereas: No appropriate form of action has been taken to condemn Ross Kressel for his
actions Whereas: The Student Government Association and the Student Body have lost
confidence in Ross Kressel.
Whereas: Ross Kressel stated on august 16th quote; “Apparently I’m allowed to just
chill in this office and do nothing”, does not establish a commitment to his job
as student leader.
Therefore: BE IT INACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING:
Section I: One thousand dollars of President Ross Kressel’s summer pay will be reduced
from his future pay in restitution over the course of the school year.
Section II: Section I will be enacted by taking a portion of each check President Ross
Kressel receives until the full amount (one thousand dollars) is paid back.
Said portion will be an amount of one hundred dollars taken out of each
check for a series of ten checks.
Section III: With the $1000 dollars taken back from Ross Kressel’s pay, the money will
be put in to organizations such as diversity groups and groups focusing on
sexual preference such as a mends for his verbal harassment targeting such
students at the college of Charleston.
Section IV: THIS BILL SHALL TAKE EFFECT (UPON PASSAGE) BY THE
STUDENT SENATE SITTING IN GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE
SIGNATURE OF THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT.

Purpose: To amend the bylaws of the SGA.
Whereas: Section 900.004 reads, “The Election Commission shall organize, hold,
and moderate a debate between the candidates for Executive Council
offices to be held during the week prior to the elections.
Whereas: In the past, SGA debates have not always been organized, held, nor
moderated by the Election Commission.
Therefore: BE IT ENACTED BY THE SENATE OF THE STUDENT
GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION IN REGULAR SESSION
ASSEMBLED, THE FOLLOWING
Section I: Strike “The Election Commission shall organize, hold, and moderate…”
from section 900.004.
Section II: Insert at the beginning of section 900.004 “There will be”
Section III: Section 900.004 will read, “There will be a debate between the
candidates for Executive Council offices to be held during the week
