What The first and second coming ?

FIRST COMING Once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put

away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (Heb.9: 26)

(To save us from the penalty of sin)

SECOND COMING Unto them that look for him Shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Heb.9: 28)

(To save us even from the presence of sin)


Purpose of His first coming

To proclaim the acceptable years of the Lord (Lk.4: 19; Is.61: 2)

• He to save the sinners. (1.Tim.1: 15, 1.Jn.3: 5)

• He to do the will of God. (Heb.10: 7)

• He was manifested to take away our sins (1.Jn.3: 5)

• He to put away sin by his sacrifice (Heb.9: 26)

• He to take away the sins of the world (1.Jn.1: 29)

• He might destroy the work of the devil (1.Jn.3: 8)

• He to fulfill what is written of him (1.Cor.15: 1-3)


PURPOSE OF HIS COMING AGAIN

• Without sin unto salvation (save from the presence of sin- Heb.9: 28)

• Establish kingdom on earth (Acts.1: 6)

• Execute judgment to those not believed (2.The.1: 8)

• Bring all things in subjection to him (1.Cor.15: 28)

• Restoration of all things (Eph.1: 10)


WHEN WILL BE HIS COMING ?

• TIME IS NOT GIVEN (Mat.24: 36)

Will time be revealed to anyone ?

What happened to those who set time in the past ?

• BUT SIGNS ARE GIVEN (Mat.24: 4-32)

Religious signs (Mat.24: 5; 23)

National signs (Mat. 24: 32)

Political signs (Mat.24: 6)

Cosmic signs (Mat. 24: 7)


TIME OF HIS COMING AGAIN

• But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. (Mat.24: 36)

• And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Acts.1: 7)

(Those who tried to set time in the past ended up

in heresies or cults) Eg. William Miller, and many around the world


WHEN WILL BE HIS COMING ?

• Any day from now (Rev.22: 20)

• Is His delay a denial ? (2.Pet. 3: 9)

• What answer Bible gives to scoffers ? (2.Peter. 3: 8; Ps. 90: 4)

• Why He delays ? (Rom.11: 35)

• Will He tarry ? (Heb.10: 37)

• Will He come ? (Hos.6: 3)

• What he has promised (Rev. 22: 20)

(Israel became independent on 14th May 1948 after centuries (Hos.3: 4) from the state of a withered fig (Mat.21: 18-19)

• Liberation of other nations same period (Lk.21: 29) (India, Sri Lanka, Burma etc.,)

• Wars and commotions (Lk.21: 9)

• Nations against nations (Lk. 21: 10)

• Economic gap widens (Lk.21: 34)


SIGNS OF HIS COMING (Cosmic- nature)

• Earth quake in diverse places (Lk.21: 11)

• Famine and Pestilence (Lk.21: 11)

• Fearful and great signs in heaven (Lk.21: 11)

• Signs in sun moon and stars (Lk. 21: 25)

HOW SIGNS AFFECT THE PEOPLE OF THE WORLD

Upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;

MAN’S HEART FAILING OF FEAR

Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after

those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

(Lk.21: 26)


HOW YOU RESPONSE TO THE SIGNS

• Let not your heart be troubled (Mat.24: 6)

• Let not be terrified (Lk.21: 9)

• Let not be overcharged with Surfeiting (Lk.21: 34)

• Let not be overcharged with cares of life (Lk.21: 34)

• Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: (James5:8)

WHO ALL WILL BE IN RAPTURE ?

• Dead in Christ (Resurrected) 1.The.4: 16 Together with

• We living (Changed) 1. Cor.15: 50-52

(All who belong to the church)

• Old Testament saints

(Paul wrote nothing about Old Testament saints, since he was

writing to the church. But we see them in the Marriage supper of the lamb. Since no separate resurrection revealed for them, could believe they are also resurrected the same time) Or how will sit, unless resurrected ? (Lk. 13: 28-29)

RAPTURE THE BLESSED HOPE

The Resurrection of the dead

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven

with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

The translation of the living

Then we which are alive and remain shall be

caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1.The.4: 16-17)


WHY THE DIFFERENT VOICES ?

• TRUMPET OF GOD

Raise the dead and gather all (1.Cor.15: 52)

• SHOUT OF THE LORD

“COME UP” –To set journey (Rev.4: 1)

Shadow seen in (Num.10: 1- 5) the use of two trumpets of silver

• VOICE OF THE ARCHANGELS

(To resist all power of the darkness that may resist resurrection

and rapture (Jude.9; Dan.10: 13)


WHY RAPTURE THE BLESSED HOPE ?

• The redemption of our body (Rom.8: 23)

• Glorious liberty (Rom.8: 21)

• Blessed hope of his coming (Tit.2: 13)

• We shall see him as he is; and we .. (1.Jn.3: 2)

• No more parting (1.The.4: 17)

• For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them,

and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. (Rev.7: 17)


Rapture will be separating also !

• IF YOU ARE NOT A SAVED PERSON YOU WILL BE LEFT BEHIND

I tell you, in that night there shall be

Two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

• A time such as never before (Dan. 12: 1)• Great tribulation such as never (Mat.24: 21)• Time of refining of Israel (Zac.13: 9)• The time of the vengeance of the Lord (Lk.21: 22)• The seventieth week. (Dan.9: 24-27)

(Church will be caught up before tribulation)

(Week or “Heptads” are seven years of 360 days.

Began on BC.457 (7+62=69) ended AD.27; Now One week left (Ezra.6: 14; Dan. 9: 25) of the 70TH week)


THE NATURE OF HIS COMING

• HIS COMING IS PERSONAL (Acts.1: 11)

• HIS COMING IS IMMINENT (1.Cor.15: 52)

• HIS COMING IS VISIBLE * (Acts.1:11; Rev.1: 7)

• HIS COMING IS SURE (Rev.22: 12; 20)

at rapture only his own will see him


YOUR APPROACH AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Wait for His coming (1.The.1: 10)

• Be patient; Stablish your heart (Ja.5: 8)

• Be wise; redeeming the time (Eph.5: 16)

• Keep words of prophecy in heart (2.Pet.1: 9)

• Keep a life of holiness (Rev.22: 11)

• Watch and pray always (Lk.21: 36)

• Haste the coming of the Lord (2.Pet.3: 11)


HASTE THE COMING OF THE LORD

Among own household, friends, neighbors, and others

• YOUR ROLE IN PREPARING OTHERS

Preaching Gospel to all (2.Tim.4: 5)

BE READY FOR HIS COMING

(Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for your sins, risen from dead to save you from your sins)

• Accept him as your savior (Acts.4: 12)

• Have the assurance of salvation (1.Jn.3: 1-3)
