EditorialThe ‘raison d’être’ of a scientificmeeting is to promote thecommunion of minds in the questfor knowledge, a rare good that canbe freely shared. Knowledge comesin many flavours such as: theknowledge of facts, the knowledgefrom previous experience, theknow-how of technical skills.Knowledge springs from reason, talent, passion, compassion andhuman interaction; from ragingcontroversies to peaceful teamconstructions. Because we arepeople of action, there is first andforemost practical knowledge. Ourprimary goal will be to promote thegrowth and exchange of practical, reliable knowledge in a warm andfestive environment. We are delighted to host the 10th

biennial WFITN meeting, to be heldJune 29th, 2009 in Montréal. WithNature’s collaboration we can hopefor warm evenings, strolling thedowntown streets to the rhythm ofthe International Jazz Festival. You are all invited to shareknowledge, friendship and musicfrom all over the world.
