Maryland bought a strip of land adjacent to Northwood High School to build a

road.

Instead, it became a community dump.

A plan was created…

It is a nature interpretive trail,

a healthy vernal pool,

a native plant meadow,

15 acres of environmentally protected land,

Hawk’s nest

Fox den

a place for recreation and environmental education,

and for Northwood High School and the Silver Spring

community.
