    RECORD AND REVIEW

    SPECIAL EDITION

  • Solitaire Leagues of the MFCA Solitaire Coaches Points Challenge

    Official Rules and Regulations

The Solitaire Leagues of the MFCA’s Solitaire Coaches Points Challenge (SCPC) is a points-based ranking system developed by the SCPC Rules Committee by which teams owned and coached by MFCA members may register their solitaire league and team game results into a national data base and earn points towards becoming the SCPC “National Champion” 1. Office of the Commissioner

The Commissioner of the SCPC shall be a member of the MFCA’s Board of Directors (BOD) appointed and approved by a majority vote of the BOD. Duties of the Commissioner will be to oversee the overall operation of the SCPC, appoint members of the SCPC Rules Committee and moderate meetings of the SCPC Rules Committee. The Commissioner will make rulings regarding questions and interpretations of the SCPC Rules and Regulations.

    2. SCPC Rules Committee The Rules Committee shall be comprised of at least 3 members of the MFCA, .appointed by the Commissioner and approved by a majority vote of the BOD. One member of the Rules Committee will serve as Chairman and will aid and assist the Commissioner in the operation of the SCPC. Members of the Rules Committee must be MFCA members in good standing (membership dues maintained and paid up-to-date). Duties of the Rules Committee will be to develop the initial Rules and Regulations of the SCPC, review and recommend changes to the Rules and Regulations annually and aid and assist the Commissioner and Rules Committee Chairman in the operation of the SCPC.

    3. Participation To participate in the SCPC, solitaire owners/coaches must be members of the MFCA in good standing (membership dues maintained and paid up-to-date).Solitaire owner/coaches may register any number of teams used in their solitaire play. Registration is completed by entering game result information on the Official SCPS Game Registration Form (http://miniaturefootball.org/mfcasl/enter-scpc-game-info-here/).

    4. Divisions

Through information gathered by the Rules committee, it has been determined that solitaire play is conducted in several distinct styles and use of certain equipment. Using this information we have established the following divisions: Division 1. Box Stock (Players – figure and base “as is out of the box”, no weight added, minimal

or no base tweaking, may have small details added such as face mask and / or chin straps that do not significantly add weight to the figure.

Division 2. 3.3g Inclusive (Players – figure and base weighing up to 3.3 grams with heavily tweaked or minimally tweaked bases for speed, strength and / or direction.

Division 3. 4.0g Inclusive (Players – figure and base weighing up to 4.0 grams with heavily tweaked or minimally tweaked bases for speed, strength and / or direction.

Division 4. Unlimited (Players – figure and base- with no weight or tweaking limits.) During the game registration process coaches will be asked to assign their teams to one of the above divisions. Please contact the Commissioner or a member of the SCPC Rules Committee if unsure which division to assign a team to.

    5. The SCPC Points System The following point system has been established and will be used to rank teams according to the number of games played, offensive and defensive performance, game scenario, and strength of schedule. Teams will be ranked based upon total SCPC points earned.

  • 1. Games Played 1 point awarded for each game played (up to a maximum of 10 games). 2. Offensive and Defensive performance

    Offensive points scored 0 - 3 0 points 4 – 10 1 point 11 – 17 2 points 18 - 24 3 points 25 + 4 points

    Defensive points allowed 25 + 0 points 24 – 18 1 point 17 – 11 2 points 10 – 4 3 points 0 – 3 4 points

    3. Game Scenario Bonus Points (GSBP) The winning team receives bonus points based on the following game scenario criteria:

The winning team and losing team are owned by the same person and coached by the same person.

    0 points

The winning team and losing team are owned by the same person but someone else coached the game.

    1 point

The winning team and losing team have different owners and the winning team’s owner coached the game.

    2 points

The winning team and losing team have different owners and the game was coached by someone else.

    3 points

The winning team and losing team have different owners and the game was coached by the losing team’s owner.

    4 points

    4. Strength of Schedule A. Division Bonus Points (DBP) Teams playing and defeating teams in a higher division will receive Division Bonus points based as

follows: 3.3g Box Stock team defeats a 3.3g Inclusive team = 1 points 3.3g Box Stock team defeats a 4.0g Inclusive team = 2 points 3.3g Box Stock team defeats a Unlimited team = 3 points 3.3g Inclusive team defeats a 4.0g Inclusive team = 1 points 3.3g Inclusive team defeats a Unlimited team = 2 points 4.0g Inclusive teams defeats a Unlimited team = 1 points Teams playing and defeating teams in the same or a lower division do not receive Division Bonus

Points. B. Quality Win Bonus Points (QWBP) At the end of the season, teams will be awarded 2 points for every win that an opponent they

defeated won during the season. 5. SCPC Regular Season and Post Season A. Regular Season

Season One of the Solitaire Coaches Points Challenge will begin Oct. 1, 2012 and end on June 30, 2013. Qualifying games must be played during this time period and game result information entered on or before June 30, 2013. It is recommended that game information be entered as soon as possible after the completion of a qualifying game to allow the Rules Committee adequate time to update the data base and to give participating coaches the opportunity to follow the progress of their teams throughout the season.

  • Season Two and subsequent seasons will begin on Sept. 1 and end on June 30 of that year. This is to allow the Rules Committee to review the past season and make any changes needed to the Rules and Regulations for the following season.

    B. Post Season On July 4th of each season, final point totals will be posted. The top team in each division will be

announced and given the first opportunity to participate in one of four post season bowl games, the Solitaire Coaches Bowl Championship Series (SCBSC).

Teams that have completed and won 6 or more games are eligible to participate in one of the four

bowl games. Being bowl eligible does not guarantee a bowl bid. Bowl Game participants will be selected by the SCPC Rules Committee matched up in such a

manner to promote fair, evenly matched, competitive and entertaining games as possible and such that they have the potential to effect the final rankings. Location, rule set to be used and actual coaches of the game must be mutually agreed upon and approved by the SCPC Rules Committee.

Bowl Games must be played in the month leading up to or at the Annual MFCA Convention in

August of each year. All bowl games will be scored using the SCPC Points system. Upon completion of all bowl games,

rankings will be recalculated and the number one team will be named the SCPC Champion. 6. Sponsorship It is the desire of the SCPC Rules Committee to have sponsorship for its SCBCS Bowl Games.

Any company or person wishing to sponsor a Bowl Game should contact the SCPC Commissioner or Rules Committee. Sponsorship may include but not be limited to providing a bowl game trophy and/or other prizes approved by the SCPC Rules Committee.

    7. Code of Conduct It is the goal of the SCPC to provide a competitive, fun and entertaining form of participation for

those MFCA members who classify themselves as “Solitaire Coaches” To maintain and insure the MFCA’s motto of “Unity, Integrity and Fellowship” the MFCA’s Code of Conduct will be enforced.

Any person or persons found to be or suspected of conspiring to enter false information in regards

to SCPC game information and participation will be subject to MFCA membership suspensions and possible membership bans according to the MFCA’s Code of Conduct as contained in the MFCA’s Bylaws. (http://miniaturefootball.org/about-the-mfca/bylaws/)

Amendment 1. Rollover Rule Owner/Coach’s who have teams that did not complete more than 5 games in a season have the

option to “rollover” games to the next subsequent season. This will allow Owner/Coach’s with a larger number of teams to complete a full “ten game season” for their teams over the period of 2 “SCPC Seasons”. Owner/Coach’s must declare their intent to take advantage of this “Rollover Rule” prior to the beginning of the next subsequent season. Games can only be rolled over once to the next subsequent season.

SCPC Season II Weeks 1 & 2 Update Season II of the SCPC is underway, but off to a bit of a slow start. That's okay though. Season I didn't begin until October 1st, so we're ahead of last seasons pace by default. Fall is a busy time of year. Things will pick-up. All games entered so far, eight, are from Al's new WMLML season and Roo's ongoing ECFA action. Both coaches have entered four games all of which are detailed on their respective threads. Keep an eye on the action as more coaches and games get going in the coming weeks. • SCPC Season II Week 5 Update We are already into week six of the second season of SCPC action. The fall is very busy, so things get off to a bit of a slow start, especially for me. We have 28 games entered now, and it looks like a few teams have played more than one. All the games so far have come from Dunham, Morgans, McLaughlin, Heward, and Martin. Way to go guys. You've got the jump on the rest of us. I'm setting a target date for November 1st for the first official rankings to be released. It's a little anti-climatic until we have more teams and games. Now there are just a whole bunch of ties between teams with just one game. That also gives me some more time to work on an improved game reporting and rankings system. SCPC Season II Week 6 Update Good morning everyone. Let me start by thanking you all for your patience with me. The fall is such a busy time of year I just don't have time to keep up with everything. I'm shooting for a few weeks from now, Nov. 1st, to get the games all organized and get the first rankings out. Setting up an automated system is much more involved than I thought it would be. Time to work on that is hard to come by as well, but I'll get there eventually. Eleven new games were entered this week with Chris LeMay getting into the mix. We are now at 6 coaches and 39 games for season II, and we're only six weeks in. Season II is going to be awesome. Hang in there, and I'll get things going strong in Nov. SCPC Season II Week 7 Update Good morning. Week seven of SCPC Season II action consisted of seven new games pushing our total for the first seven weeks to 46 games. The best news of the week is that I was finally able to sit down with my buddy, who is the tech guy at my school, to roll up our sleeves and look at the technical side of running the SCPC. We put together some exciting plans that will streamline the process of keeping track of the hundreds of teams and games that took part last season. With season II setting up to be even bigger this will be a great benefit allowing the committee and I to spend less time recording results and crunching numbers manually, and more time promoting the SCPC. From the participant perspective the new plans, once implemented, will make entering game results, seeing your individual teams' status, and the overall rankings a one click, real time process. I'm pretty excited! It's going to take some time to get everything set up and there will likely be some growing pains and a learning curve, but it's going to be awesome. For now, keep doing what you're doing as far as playing and reporting games. Depending on the timeline for launching a new system I may or may not have to put up rankings the old way. I'm still shooting for a Nov. 1st weekend 'First Ranking'. SCPC Weekly Update Week 11

Sunday, October 10 thru Saturday, October 16, 2013

SCPC Season II Official Stats: 8 new games this week

1 new owner / coaches this week 75 total games, 82 different teams, 9 owners/coaches

0 bowl eligible teams (six or more wins) 0 five win teams still alive 0 four win teams still alive

    7 Months & 2 Weeks Remaining

Better late than never, week eleven finally brings the first official rankings for SCPC Season II. SCPC Points Season II can be viewed through the SCPC section of the MFCA home page. Here is a direct link to view the rankings. http://miniaturefootball.org/scpc/view-all/ This first meaningful weekly update of season II will focus on the new SCPC web pages. I’ve managed to recruit the tech guy at my school, Corey, to get things all set up nice and fancy for us. Corey has even taken an interest in playing some MF so maybe we’ll have a new member/coach soon. For now keep entering SCPC game results just as you always have. Eventually you will be able to enter games directly into our new database system, but we’re not there yet. I’ll do that for the time being. Until we switch game reporting methods the master list with all games for season II is the same list from season I. It contains all SCPC games for both seasons. You can view this from the MFCA home page under SCPC, but cannot edit it. Once I take your game results and enter them in the database your teams points for that game, total points, and ranking are automatically updated and immediately viewable on the SCPC Points Season II page. Once on the SCPC Points Season II page you can see how all SCPC teams are doing. You can click on any team to be taken to that team’s team view page. On the team view page you will see all games and results for that team, and a breakdown of the points for each game. Also listed on the team view page is the team’s owner, total points, current rank, division, and home league (not all info is entered yet). In the future Corey will be rolling out other features on the team view page such as a team logo, photo gallery, and possibly other cool stuff.

  • As always, please check your team’s information, game results, points, and ranking. If you see any errors let me know right away. Our entire system is automated now so there shouldn’t be many errors. The most frequent problem will likely be game results getting reported /entered incorrectly. Any other sort of error that is found should not occur again once fixed. This system is really slick; very professional. Corey is doing amazing stuff. Take some time and play around, take a tour. We’re pretty excited about our upgrades. As of right now all but two of the 75 season II games are entered into the database. The two that are not are pending additional information form the owner/coach and/or a decision from the rules committee. Our current top ranked team belongs to SCPC new comer in Season II, Andy McLaughlin and his 2012 Atlanta Falcons with a record of 3-1 and 24 points. Ed Morgans, Al Dunham, and Chris LeMay all have at least one team within just a few points of the top. One game can tip the scales at this early stage in the challenge. Thank you to everyone who is taking part and helping out, especially Corey and his amazing tech skills. Let’s all encourage at least one other solitaire coach to join in. The SCPC is going to be bigger and better in season II. One last note. The season I trophies are now complete and can be seen on the forum. Nice job Chris! Who wants to win one in Season II?

    SCPC Weekly Update Week 12

Sunday, October 17 thru Saturday, October 23, 2013

SCPC Season II Official Stats: 10 new games this week 12 new teams this week

    1 new owner/coaches this week 85 total games, 94 different teams, 10 owners/coaches

0 teams eliminated from bowl contention 0 bowl eligible teams (six or more wins)

0 five win teams still alive 1 four win team still alive

    7 Months & 1 Week Remaining

Alright, it sure is fun to be back in the saddle tracking the SCPC weekly. The new database updates the points and rankings in real time as I enter game results, so you can always see where your teams are ranked. More new features to the SCPC Points Season II web page, and the individual ‘Team View’ pages will be coming soon. Week 12 was an active week with ten new games, twelve new teams, one new owner/coach, and our first four win team. A huge Welcome Back to Brian Wittkop Sr. who had had some health issues, but is now back up and running his Northern Michigan Electric Football League. Andy McLaughlin’s 2012 Atlanta Falcons are the current number one team in the land, and are our first four win team of Season II. I think Andy needed to set the record straight following Atlanta’s loss the Saints on Thursday night. His 2012 Falcons have now beat the 2012 Saints twice in Dirty Bird Electric Football Action. Andy also entered the first ever tie game in SCPC history. Wow, it’s hard to believe that in nearly 700 games combined in Seasons I & II we have never had a tie game before. Chris LeMay had a few, but played them out for SCPC purposes even though his league does allow ties. Thanks to Andy, Chris no longer has to do that. Corey made a few quick adjustments to the database and walla! We have tie game results. In a tie game both teams get only a point for playing the game, and their points scored/points allowed bonuses. All other bonuses go the the winning team which neither team in a tie was. Al Dunham’s Midwest Mennonites handed the Arctic Tundra a 42 - 28 loss. The win moved the Mennonites to 3-0 in SCPC play. They were the number one team all week. Until The Revenge of the Falcons II was entered by Andy.

  • ECFA had a cat fight this week. The Kentucky Wildcats moved to 2-0 with a 21-10 win over the Kansas State Wildcats. Brian Wittkop is playing a Pac-10 schedule. In non-conference play, a SCPC Season I BCS team that finished number four in Season I, the Michigan Wolverines, defeated the Stanford Cardinal 28 - 3. Finally, in my Nine-Man League the powerful Camp 53 Shays were taken down a notch by the Gatten Swamp Loggers in the final game on my week nine schedule. I have one more week of regular season play, and then the play-offs, in a season that has now spanned over two years. Yup, two years. The SCPC Rules Committee noted that a number of solitaire players, like myself, take long periods of time to complete their seasons/tournaments. Only 26 of the nearly 250 teams participating in Season I made the six win requirement to be bowl eligible. In addition, several prominent solitaire players who did not participate in Season I noted that the SCPC ten game schedule was too much for them to obtain in single season. They could not get enough games in for any of their teams to be competitive. Problem solved! Beginning with the current Season, Season II, at the end of each SCPC season, any SCPC team that played five or fewer games will be able to ‘Rollover’ those games to the next season. If a team goes 4-1 in Season II they can now roll those games over to Season III, allowing that team to start the year 4-1, and continue working towards a bowl bid. The rules committee will notify coaches who are eligible to rollover, and provide details on how this will work in regard to scoring the rolled over games at the end of the Season II. The important thing for now is that this new ‘Rollover’ rule makes the SCPC even more accommodating to the vast array of solitaire styles and formats that make the Solitaire Leagues of the MFCA so great. The ‘Rollover’ rule also means that a good number of coaches no longer have the ten game SCPC schedule as a reason for not participating. Bring your solitaire teams and leagues out of your lonely man cave and into the SCPC.

7 Months & 0 Week Remaining Happy December! We have now completed three full months of the SCPC’s second season. Looking back at last year’s numbers shows that we are right on pace this year. Manaraydre got things going this week in his new Major Bowl Implications Miniature Football League, becoming Season II’s eleventh owner/coach. Six of our eleven coaches entered games this week, and with Mantaraydre’s teams being in the Unlimited division we now have at least two owners playing teams in each division except the 4.0 Inclusive level. We’re still looking for our first Season II participant in that Division, but they will come. The SCPC coaches do a great job of promoting their leagues, teams, and games, so I won’t get into game specifics this week. I will say that LeMay had a couple of interesting results though with his Americans pulling off one huge upset, and playing to a scoreless tie. Head over to the forum and check out all the week’s action. The top ten as of this morning: 1 2012 Atlanta Falcons – AM Andy McLaughlin 4-1-0 32

    2 Kentucky Wildcats – EM Ed Morgans 2-1-0 25

    SCPC Weekly Update

Week 14 Sunday, December 1st thru Saturday, December 7th, 2013

SCPC Season II Official Stats: 15 new games this week 16 new teams this week

No new owner/coaches this week 117 total games, 129 different teams, 11 owners/coaches

0 teams eliminated from bowl eligibility 0 bowl eligible teams (six or more wins)

Week 14 brought in no new coaches, but it seemed like every game brought in a new team. Some two. The biggest game of the week was the last one entered. Andy McLaughlin’s 2012 Atlanta Falcons defeated the 2013 Green Bay Packers in Dirty Bird Electric Football action. The win gave the Falcons a firmer hold on the number one spot in the rankings. They are also now our only five win team at 5-1, needing just one more win to become the first bowl eligible team in Season II. Brain Wittkop’s Northern Michigan Electric Football League played nine games. Week one of his PAC-10 schedule is now complete, and he has a good start on week two. Colorado, Washington, USC, and UCLA are all 2-0 so far in non-conference games. Ed’s College Football Association had just one game this week, but it was a thriller. LSU defeated Rice with a 20 – 10 come from behind win. In my MPANMMEFSL the mighty Camp 53 Shays suffored their second straight loss. Wildwood held on for a 24-19 win. The Shays will we the number one seed in the upcoming playoffs. Wildwood needs some help in the last two games of week ten to get the two seed. Manatredre’s Colorado Buffalos fell to 0-2 at the hands of Tennessee in a 28-27 decision. In Al’s WMLMF the Bozo’s shocked That ‘70s Rams Team 45-20 and New Zealand defeated Egypt. There wasn’t much action at the top of the rankings this week so we have a bit of a log jam in the top ten. 1 2012 Atlanta Falcons – AM Andy McLaughlin 5-1-0 39 2 Kentucky Wildcats – EM Ed Morgans 2-1-0 25 3 Midwest Mennonites – AD Al Dunham 3-0-0 24 4 Cleveland Browns – CL Chris LeMay 2-2-0 24 5 San Francisco Flaming Fairies – AD Al Dunham 2-1-0 23 6 Kansas Jayhawks – EM Ed Morgans 1-3-0 23 7 1972 Miami Dolphins – AM Andy McLaughlin 2-0-0 22 7 Birmingham Americans – CL Chris LeMay 2-0-1 22 9 Missouri Tigers – EM Ed Morgans 2-1-0 22 9 Oklahoma Sooners – EM Ed Morgans 2-1-0 22 9 That 70’s Rams Team – AD Al Dunham 2-1-0 22 As of this morning we already have four more games submitted to start the new week. SCPC Weekly Update

Week 15 Sunday, December 8th thru Saturday, December 14th, 2013

    SCPC Season II Official Stats:

16 new games this week 11 new teams this week

No new owner/coaches this week 133 total games, 140 different teams, 11 owners/coaches

0 teams eliminated from bowl eligibility 0 bowl eligible teams (six or more wins)

1 five win team still alive 0 four win teams still alive 28 weeks 2 days remaining

A nice weekly total of 16 games was entered this week. That’s one of our best weeks so far in Season II. In Season I there were a few weeks in which Mike Veliky entered that many game himself, but so far no Mike in Season II. Everybody likes Mike! Where is he? With the Christmas Holiday and New Year fast approaching we are entering the peak time of year for solitaire play. In Season I the holidays, college bowl season, and some extra days off with family and friends visiting brought about an increase in the games being reported. If Thanksgiving and the weeks following have been any indication this year will be the same. Some big name coaches from Season I have yet to start their new seasons. Velikey I already mentioned. Ray Sugg and his defending champion 1972 Miami Dolphins are on the horizon. The coaches of the Postal League have not yet got going either. Who knows what other new coaches are out there. Season II has a lot of new things yet to come. One thing that is not new yet is the current number one team. It is still McLaughlin’s 2012 Atlanta Falcons with a 4-0 record, and 39 SCPC points. The Falcons’ lead was shortened significantly though. What was a 15 point advantage over Morgans’ Kentucky Wildcats is now just four points over LeMay’s surprising Florida Blazers. LeMay and his Misses are both convalescing at home. From the pace Chris is entering results that lucky lady is getting to see some great MF action. The LeMay home must be a wonderful place to be this holiday season. Hope both Mr. and Mrs. LeMay heal quickly. In WLAPF action the Oilers defeated the Americans 17 - 14 and the Blazers defeated the Cowboys and the Bills by the same score. These results caused some big movement the rankings bringing three of Chris’s teams into the top ten. He now has 5 of the top 10 teams in the land. Chris has a great thread in the forum detailing his current tournament. To catch-up on who’s facing elimination over the holidays check it out. Steady as always Al Dunham played his usual two games this week in the WMLMF. In game one the Third Reich defeated the Weirdwolves 36 - 27. The Cows, whose offense has been udderly non-existent, managed an unusually low scoring 14-7 win over Kansas City. All four teams are now 1-2. Al’s Killer Bees sit at number ten and his Mennonites are seventh. ECFA had just one game this week. Notre Dame defeated Pittsburgh in the first game for both teams. The game was a break from Ed’s SEC action. ECFA’s Kentucky Wildcats, Ed’s only ranked team, slipped from number two to eight. The ECFA forum thread has been updated and explains his current project and long term solitaire plans. Amazing stuff! Check it out! Charles Angell got a game in this week. Two new CAPEF teams, the Jets and Dolphins did battle, with the Jets winning easily 28-7. The SCPC is waiting for Charles to enter the results of his Father vs. Son Thanksgiving tournament. These games are legal for SCPC play as the teams used were all part of Charles’s solitaire league. His boys doing some coaching will earn the winning teams in the tournament some extra points under the Game Scenario Bonus criteria. As always Charles has threads with some of the best pictures you’ll see on the forum detailing all his game action. Brian Wittkopp turned in the biggest week with seven games entered. Arizona defeated Iowa 20 - 10, Stanford bested Purdue 21 - 14, Hawaii won over Oklahoma State 17 - 6, UCLA beat up Wisconsin 21 - 9, Minnesota got past Oregon 24 - 17, while Michigan defeated USC 21 - 7 and Oregon 35 - 7. Brian is playing a Pac-10 season, but the Big 10 teams are doing some damage in non-conference play. Michigan is rolling at 3-0 and are now ranked number three in SCPC Season II rankings. Minnesota, whose only loss last season was to Michigan in a bowl game, always seems to find a way to win, and Purdue, the only team to beat Michigan last year had a close game as well. Michigan and Minnesota both finished 10-1 in the top ten of Season I. I’d sure like to see at least Michigan and Minnesota get a full schedule played again. It doesn’t look like the left coast can compete. UCLA, Washington, and Arizona are the only undefeated teams left and Brian is only in week three. The final two games of the week were a pair of wins for MantarayDre’s Colorado Buffalos who are now 2-2 and looking to make a move. Dre is using a very unique fantasy scoring system for his new Major College Bowl Implications League. Plus, he is planning to play the full schedule for one team at a time, beginning with the Buffalos. This will ensure he has teams competing for the SCPC hardware come August. It is a very interesting system and strategy. You can read all about it on the forum.

  • That’s it for week 15. Here’s your new top ten. I added a ‘Previous Rank’ column here. We are working on getting this added to the master ranking page so everyone can see how much movement there is for all teams each week. The week before Christmas 2013, may just be my favorite SCPC week to date. Fourteen total games were entered this week. Six new teams entered competition, and we are very near 150 games and teams in Season II. What I’m most excited about though is that we have our first ‘Guest’ coaches, we have two new sponsors, and the Season I Championship trophies have been very well received.. Andy McLauglin had what may be the game of the week when Bartkoski and Kilmer stepped in for the two struggling franchises, placing RGIII and Matty Ice both on the bench. If this was not the game of the week it certainly is one of the best forum game summaries of all time. Check it out and see all the rave reviews Andy’s work is getting. Game Recap This game was won by the 1980 Falcon’s. Andy’s 2012 Falcons remain the number one SCPC team in this week’s rankings. Way to go Andy! I absolutely love that Lego photo set-up. In a game with a much less quality recap my Grattan Swamp Loggers won their third straight MPANMMEFSL game to finish the regular season 5-5. They are now 2-0 in SCPC Season II play and ranked # 50. I have one regular season game to go and then a five game playoff that will wrap-up my first full solitaire season in just a little over two years……... Here’s my forum thread. In the sixth round of LeMay’s WLAPF tournament the Green Bay Packers defeated the Houston Oilers 34-17. It was the Birmingham Americans over the Buffalo Bills 20 - 6, and the Oakland Raiders pounded the Florida Blazers 35-7. This sets-up the Championship round with the Packers, Raiders, Americans, and Blazers competing for the title. Here is Chris’s excellent forum thread for this tournament. Be sure to check out his very nicely done tournament bracket. Chris is dominating the SCPC top ten right now with his final four teams and two eliminated teams all in the top ten. I’d have to think the winner of this final round will sit atop the SCPC soon. Charles Angel provided us with a C_A_Panther EF first with the results of his Angel Family Thanksgiving Tournament this week. Charles was not originally aware that games like these, played head-to-head with his boys coaching teams from his solitaire league, were eligible for the SCPC. They are though. Charles entered all four of them this week, but they were actually played on Thanksgiving weekend. Charles’ Rams came out on top defeating both the Boston Patriots, coached by Seth, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, coached by Logan. When the Patriots met the Steelers Seth came out on top defeating brother Logan 22-7. I thought there was a thread with this action on the forum, but I couldn’t find it this morning. With the big wins Charles’ Rams are now the #11 team in our rankings. Welcome to the SCPC as ‘guest’ coaches Seth and Logan. Brian Wittkop turned in another five games this week from his Pac-10 NMEFL seasons. Hawaii defeated UNC 20-13, Colorado won 21-7 over Arkansas, and ASU beat PSU 13-10. Our third guest coach ran the show for the final two NMEFL games this week. Brian’s grandson, Morgan Wittkop, coached the Stanford Cardinal to a pair of wins. First Morgan led the Cardinal to a 23-14 victory over the Miami Hurricanes followed by a 27-14 beating of VaTech. Welcome aboard Morgan. Your coaching put Grandpa’s Stanford team in the # 17 spot this week. Check out all the NMEFL action here at Brian’s web site. That’s all the action for week 16. In other SCPC news there are some great pics on the forum of last years Champions with their hardware and several posts with big news regarding SCPC SCBCS games for Season II. Here are the links:

  • Dropped out: Cleveland Browns - CL, Kalamazoo Killer Bees – AD On the move: Los Angeles Rams - CA, Stanford Cardinal – BW So, why was this last week possibly my favorite SCPC week ever? Guest coaches, trophies, and sponsors. The emergence of guest coaches, the celebration of Season I trophies, and two new sponsors are all signs that the SCPC is having its intended effect on MF, is becoming part of the MF/EF landscape, and is continuing to grow. Not bad for one week! Now, all I want for Christmas is play some solitaire MF. Merry Christmas.

Gooooooooood morning solitaire fans! Welcome to the week 17 SCPC update on the final Sunday in 2013, December 29th. The SCPC hopes everyone had a fabulous Christmas. Clearly, six individuals had a great holiday as they were able to play some solitaire MF. Plus, they entered their game results in the SCPC. The results of this week’s sixteen contests gave us the biggest shake-up in the standings so far in Season II. We have our first bowl eligible team and have five others knocking on the door. We are within a month of the halfway point in Season II and the post-season is just beginning to take shape. Finally, we have a new number one team. After a number of weeks at the top Andy McLauglin’s Dirty Birds of 2012 have been knocked out of the number one spot in the rankings. The owner of the new number one team not only has the number one team, but is dominating the top ten as completely as anyone ever has. He is a total and complete ‘fanatic’! Mantaraydre’s Christmas wish came true when his Colorado Buffalos defeated the Aztecs of San Diego State 28-0. The win got the Buffs to a winning mark at after dropping their first two games of the year. Colorado is now 3-2 and just outside the top ten at number eleven. Dre posted a report card for the Buffalos so we can all see how his unique scoring system is playing out. Now you can fill in the SCPC Rank section Dre. Go Buffs! Andy McLaughlin’s Dirty Birds are no longer number 1, but I’m sure he’ll have them back on the gridiron soon. In Dirty Bird EFL holiday action the 1970 San Francisco 49ers drop two games. They lost to the 1970 Rams 17-14 and the 1973 Vikings 21-17. Here is Andy’s totally awesome game post for the Rams vs. 49ers. I just love the opening shots Andy does for each game. What does your Viking look like? I’m pretty excited to have finally completed the regular season in MPANMEFSL. In the final game the Plum Creek Pioneers took care of business against the Caldwell Busties 28-6.. Playoffs start today I hope. Brian Wittkop’s NMEFL had one result this week. The Colorado Buffalos doubled up Georgia 26-13. Brain’s Buffalos are now 4-0, closing in on the top ten, and are just two wins away from bowl eligibility. Just a reminder to be checking the forum for the results of Brian’s annual Floral Bowl later this week. I believe Brian has played this game to start the new year for over thirty years now. That’s awesome! Al used the holidays to more than double up his usual two games and reported five this week. The Toxic Waste defeated the Bozos 35-32. Simpson went nuts and some idiot put him on his fantasy bench. The Moon Sharks defeated their fellow Munich team, the Third Reich, 45-42. Orr Bitz went nuts and some idiot put him on his fantasy bench. The Cows took out the upstart Fire Lizards 42-35. Stan finally had a decent game and got the Cow offense going. At least some idiot didn’t bench Stan too. The Zombies jacked up the Union Jacks 42-35 and the Cadavers sent the Cherokee home on a trail of tears 24-18. The Cadavers are now 4-0 and in the top ten at number nine. Great stuff Al. Could I make a few mid-week line-up changes? All Al’s WMLMF action, game and fantasy results, is on the forum. The fantasy man of the week, the king of Christmas solitaire, a complete eflfanatic, Chris LeMay wrapped up his awesome WLAPF AB I Tournament. Some older game results were Florida 12 Memphis 9, Raiders 17 Packers 7, and Blazers 17 Bills 14. In the AFL/WFL Championship game the Raiders pummeled Birmingham 35 - 7. In the NFL/WFL Championship game the Packers got past the Blazers 35-28. In the American Bowl Championship the Raiders ‘Just Won Baby’ over the Packers 29-21. With the championship for the Raiders take over the number one ranking in the SCPC. Oakland is 5-1-2 and has a whopping twenty-five point lead on the number two Blazers. The Blazers however, at 6-2-1 and are the SCPC Season II’s first bowl eligible team. Chris now has six of the top ten teams. The question now is, with his broken arm healed up enough to go back to work, his tournament done, and gridiron games dancing in his head, what’s next for the eflfanatic? That’s a wrap on week seventeen. The first week of 2014 is guaranteed to bring something new. Here’s the week’s top ten.

25 weeks 2 days remaining Let’s begin this week in the Northern Michigan Electric Football League where the most dominant teams from last season’s Big Ten schedule continued their dominance. Minnesota handled Cal 24 – 7 and Michigan blanked Arizona 30 – 0. The only West Coast winner this week was Hawaii 21 – 17 over Colorado. Hawaii sits at # 23 in the rankings with a 4-0 record. Michigan with the same record of 4 – 0, thanks to their huge margins of victory and quality win bonus points (they are beating good teams) is at # 4. In the Dirty Bird Electric Football League the 1972 Monsters of the Midway defeated Green Bay’s 2013 club 21 – 7 and the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles were one better than the 2012 Saints, 15-14. None of those teams are factoring into the higher rankings yet. Andy’s former # 1, the 2012 Atlanta Falcons have not played in a while, and have slipped down to # 7. C_A_Panther Electric Football had a blowout game bigger than Michigan’s win over Arizona in the NMEFL. Green Bay destroyed Atlanta 38 – 0. The CAPEF Bears got another Monster of the Midway win too 31 – 24 over the Giants. The Packers are now 4 – 0 and cracked the top ten at # 10 this week. In Minnesota’s Park Avenue Nine-Man Miniature Electric Football Solitaire League play-off action the Bears of Northome defeated the team from Caldwell 9 – 3. The Bears are MPANMMEFSL’s highest ranked team right now at # 44. That’s three wins this week for ‘Bears’ teams! ECFA action this week saw new comer to SCPC Season II Texas A & M defeated fellow new member Boston College 31 – 23. A third newby, Alabama defeated Mississippi 17 – 10. New teams don’t rank very high initially. Ed’s top team is the # 20 Kentucky Wildcats. After wrapping up the World League of American Professional Football American Bowl I Tournament Chris LeMay had a consolation match-up in which the Birmingham Americans defeated the Florida Blazers 34 – 31. Ironically, the two teams previously played to a scoreless tie. In a SCPC first Chris put together a team of all starts from his World League teams. The WFL All-Stars took on the WLAPF AB Champion Oakland Raiders. The Raiders proved themselves yet again, winning over the All-Stars 28 – 21. Great idea Chris. The Raiders are at # 1 for a second consecutive week. Chris owns six of the SCPC’s top ten teams. In addition, Oakland is the SCPC Season II’s first bowl eligible team*. *Due some data entry errors last week some of Chris’s teams had incorrect standings and rankings last week. Everything is fixed up now. Sorry Chris.* The Western Michigan League of Miniature Football rolled on with the Pacific Sharks winners over Egypt 38 – 35 and the Arctic Tundra defeating Kansas City 31 – 6. The Mennonites are Al’s top team at # 8. His Cadavers are at # 10. The Tundra are sitting at # 12, but they as well fell prey to a data entry error. When corrected the Tundra will receive one additional point which will bump them into the top ten sliding the Cadavers down. Sorry Al. Here’s the week’s top twelve exclusive of the Tundra correction.

    SCPC Weekly Update Week 19

Sunday, January 5th thru Saturday, January 11th, 2014 SCPC Season II Official Stats:

13 new games this week 11 new teams this week

1 owner/coaches this week No new Guest Coaches this week

190 total games, 168 different teams, 12 owners/coaches, 3 Guest Coaches 0 teams eliminated from bowl eligibility 2 bowl eligible teams (six or more wins)

0 five win team still alive 10 four win team still alive 24 weeks 2 days remaining

The Northern Michigan Electric Football League wrapped up week four with five games this week. UCLA blanked K State 20 – 0, USC ended the Irish’s luck 31 – 17, the Ducks were ten better than the Scarlet Knights 24 – 14, ASU defeated Ole Miss 21 – 13, and Washington won over FSU 26 – 14. UCLA, Washington*, Colorado, and Hawaii are all 4-0 now. UCLA entered the top ten at # 9, Colorado is #20, Hawaii # 23, and Washington # 33, but the top ranked NMEFL team is still Michigan, also 4 – 0, at # 4. The Pac-10 should enter conference play in week 5, but Brain Wittkop announced that Michigan will continue playing as well. The Wolverines were an upset loss away from going undefeated last year. Their loss to Purdue likely cost them a shot a the SCPC National Title. *Brain, check the Washington page. I only have three games recorded for them. What game is missing? The Major Bowl Implications Electric Football League’s Colorado Buffalos ran their record to 4 – 2 with a big win over Ole Miss, 39 – 6. The win moved the Buffalos into the top ten at # 8. Up next in MBIEFL action is Colorado vs. USC. After wrapping up the league championship in American Bowl I, the Oakland Raiders defeated the WFL All-Stars in the first of a three game All-Star Series.. This week they took down the NFL All-Stars 25 – 15, and played to a 34 – 34 tie with the AFL All-Stars. The Raiders remain the # 1 team in the land at 7 – 1 – 3. The eleventh game does not add SCPC points to the Raiders’ total of 98, which is forty more than the second ranked team. How long will the Raiders hold the top spot? Unless Chris plays a bunch of games with the teams Oakland defeated, earning them more QWB points it’s not a matter of if, but when they will be passed up. One of the favorites to catch LeMay’s Raiders will be whoever becomes the champion of Dream Season II. Last year the Dream Season champ was also the SCPC Champion. Ray Sugg’s Chamion 1972 Miami Dolphins haven’t taken the field yet, but Dream Season II is underway. The 1969 Chiefs defeated the 1970 Colts 28 – 7 and the 1976 Oakland Raiders won over the 1968 New York Jets 21 – 14. Maybe the Raiders will catch the Raiders. It sure will be fun following along to see how the top Dream Season teams do in SCPC Season II. Welcome back Ray. Former # 1, the Dirty Bird Electric Football League’s 2012 Atlanta Falcons, got back on the field this week. They defeated the 2013 Carolina Panthers 27 – 14. The win keeps the Falcons at # 7, but their 6 – 1 record makes them the second bowl eligible team. C_A_Panther Electric Football had one game this week. The Bills defeated the Jets 21 – 17. The Bills are now 2 – 0.

  • The first round of play-offs wrapped up in Minnesota’s Park Avenue Nine-Man Miniature Electric Football Solitaire League with a 10 – 9 win for the Grattan Swamp Loggers over the Wildwood Woodsmen. Grattan is now 3 – 0 in SCPC games. They have won four consecutive games overall. Here’s the week’s top ten.

Dropped Out: Cleveland Cadavers (AD), Green Bay Packers (CA), Arctic Tundra (AD) On the Move: Grattan Swamp Loggers (DG), Washington Huskies (BW) Chris LeMay’s Raiders have a huge lead on the rest of the pack. A number of undefeated teams are well below them. This is simply because of the number of games they have played, and the number of games the teams they defeated have played and won. Teams from leagues that play schedules, and whose owners play multiple games each week, tend to jump out early as they get more QWB points. Teams from tournaments catch-up as their QWB points don’t come until the end of the tournament when they play other teams with multiple wins. Teams like Dre’s Buffalos and Andy’s Falcons will have a smaller total initially because the teams they are playing have mostly only played one game. As other teams play more games teams like these will start earning QWB points and close the gap on # 1. Don’t let the rankings fool you. There are some really good teams slowly climbing the ranks. LeMay’s Raiders won’t stay on top all season. Who’s going to catch them?

    Dream Season II is underway.

23 weeks 2 days remaining On the weekend before TudorCon14 the SCPC had another week with thirteen new games. Thirteen seems to be our favorite number. This week’s games pushed the challenge past the 200 game mark in Season II. We’re a little bit behind last year’s pace. In Season I we hit 200 games on January 4th. We hit 300 on January 29th. The missing games are those of Mike Velikey and his awesome North Jersey Legends league. Where are you Mike? Week twenty of Season II had some big occurrences on the electric gridiron. Brian Witkkop and his NMELF are a mainstay week in and week out so far this season. He turned another seven game week. Six were played this week and included USC over Stanford 21 – 17, UCLA over Hawaii in a battle of undefeated teams 28 – 21, and Washingt
