Having a child will change your life in lots of ways, including your car choices. • It is very common for parents to pass along their used car to their teenage children when they purchase a new car for themselves. But if you really want your kid to be safer, your child should be driving the newer, safer car, while you continue using the old one. Pure safety would say to give your child the new car. It is noteworthy that making such a move will have an effect on your insurance premiums as a new driver driving a new car will cost more than a new driver in an old car.
