Welcome Welcome to this evening’s performance by Scottish Dance Theatre. SDT is completing a year of transition – Janet Smith left the company after 14 years as Artistic Director in February, and Fleur Darkin has just recently taken the helm to lead us into an exciting new future. I am proud to have guided SDT through this transition, and now look forward to this new era for the company. We have brought you a familiar double bill by two of the UK’s most talented and delightful choreographers. LUXURIA (2004) and DOG (2008), hailed as signature works for SDT, show off the technical and theatrical skills of our dancers. A programme full of emotion, prowess and adrenalin! This programme represents two of the most popular works commissioned during Janet’s tenure, and so it’s fitting that we revive these works and mark a turning point for SDT. I hope you enjoy the performance! James MacGillivray Acting Artistic Director
