Splatsin Development Corporation
SDC, established in 2007, is the economic development and business operations agency of
Splatsin, operating at arm’s length from its elected Council with an independent Board of
Directors.
SDC Mandate/Mission
Generate and manage genuine wealth through active participation in the economy while
protecting and preserving the environment for all generations. To accomplish this, SDC will
create and operate profitable businesses, develop capacity amongst community members,
and generate income opportunities while integrating the environmental and cultural herit-
age of the Splatsin people.
The development corporation operates within the strategic plan established by Splatsin
Council (2013). The Council is a partner in all business operations and sets the mandate for
the agency.
SDC has created or maintained more than 50 full-time and 50 part-time employment oppor-
tunities. The group of companies has made $400,000 plus annually in profits for re-
investment while expanding its capital base and influence in the Territory. SDC is continuing
to evaluate new business and investment opportunities for Splatsin.
