Science World On the Road
Science World On the Road is coming to Pineview Elementary on the afternoon of January 25th.
The On the Road program is run by Science World’s fantastic touring science team. It uses fun, inquiry-based demonstrations to engage the people of British Columbia in science, to spark curiosity and to stimulate learning.
Science World On the Road visits more than 30,000 students each year, at schools outside the Lower Mainland, who might not otherwise have a chance to visit Science World at TELUS World of Science. These high-energy gymnasium presentations are curriculum linked and provide an unforgettable science experience for students.
The presentation our students will be seeing is called: Fantastic Forces.
Fantastic Forces allows students to experience push, pull, lift, friction and drag—some of the fantastic forces that affect our lives every day. They will see amazing demonstrations like the Rubber Chicken Slingshot, the Giant Tablecloth Pull and perhaps a rocket launch or two.

Student Learning Survey
Help us plan for the future – tell us about your education experience. Students in grade 4 and 7, their parents and all staff at Pineview Elementary are invited to participate in an annual online satisfaction survey about their school experience.
The survey takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Parents can access the survey two ways:- with a login number provided by the school (automatically selects the appropriate survey for the child’s school and grade)- without a login number (the parent must select the child’s school and grade level in order to access the correct survey).
The following link will take you to the survey: https://www.awinfosys.com/SurveyFull1/central/main/access.asp
Students will take the survey at school.
Bus NotesReminder that requests for bus notes must be at the office by recesses daily. Requests that come after that time will
not be granted (unless it is an emergency). Accepted requests must come from parents.
Students may not use cell phones to make arrangements for play dates or take the bus unless they have teacher permission or make the call from the office.
Kindergarten RegistrationChildren whose fifth birthday falls on or before December 31, 2019 are eligible to enter Kindergarten in September 2019.
Kindergarten registration for September 2019 will open 9:00 am January 29, 2019. Registration should be completed through our online form. More information and links will be provided closer to the opening date.
Note that registration applications must be made to your catchment school.
Snow Balls at School
We finally got snow! Those of us who shovel the driveway are less excited, but lots of snow means sledding, snowmobiling, skiing, and snow forts!
It does NOT mean throwing snow at school. Ultimately, the bottom line here is safety. We cannot have
