ItshouldbenotedthatendusersinterviewedarerarelyreplacingalloftheirMPLS,thoughtheycitereducedbandwidthcostsasakeyreasonforusingSD-WAN.MostorganizaHonswetalktoarejustselecHvelytrimmingdownMPLSorconsolidaHngcircuitsandusingbroadbandorIPtransitwhereitmakesmoresense.
Forexample,ifanenterpriseapplicaHonishostedinaprivatedatacenterthatisconnectedwithaneffecHveMPLSlink,itmaynotmakesensetoreplacethat.ButifanumberofusersareaccessingcloudapplicaHonsdirectlyfromthebranch,itnolongermakessensetobackhaulthetraffictotheprivatedatacenteroverMPLSbeforesendingitovertheInternet.BreakingoutInternetandcloudtraffictothebranchopHmizeshowbandwidthisallocatedtobranchnetworks.
