1. INT Living Room Late Afternoon

JAKE and STEVEN are sitting on a couch. The TV is on in the

background, flickering unimportant images. Jake is continuously

flipping a football up into the air and catching it.

JAKE

(concentrating on flipping the ball, not making eye

contact)

Dude, it's not that hard. You’re overthinking everything.

We just do it and in one night's work, we'll be set for

life. Even YOU can like those odds.

STEVEN

(tense)

Why do you think I’m even considering this? But, shit. I

don’t even know if I can do it.

JAKE

(stops flipping ball)

Look: Think of how pissed you get when you're doing bills

and shit. You're going to do that every month for the rest

of your life, unless you do something about it.

STEVEN

I’d rather be working to pay the bills than go through with

this.

JAKE

We don’t exactly have a lot of options right now, and

that’s not one of them. The way I see it, in twenty four

hours we’ll be either dead or rich. ‘n I don’t know about

you, but I’d prefer the money. Now, I told you, this is

fool-proof. We'll be in and out. We'll be the only ones

that know about it.

STEVEN

(After a long pause)

And you have everything set up already?

JAKE

We'll be in and out.

STEVEN

(Loosening up)

And we'll be the only ones that know about it?

Unknown to JAKE and STEVEN, the shadow outside the window heard

everything. Rustling out of the bushes, he makes his way to the

front door, and walks in like he’s lived there for years.

JAKE and STEVEN are both taken off guard and shout. JAKE stands

up, pointing at the former shadow.

JAKE

What the fuck are YOU doing here!?

STEVEN

You’re supposed to be dead…

SHADOW MAN

Well, JAKE, there are ALWAYS more options. But I do like

this idea of yours.

JAKE

NO! NO WAY. We can’t afford to split this three ways.

You’ll have to come up with your own plan!

SHADOW MAN

Don’t worry. I’ve got something else in there that I need.

I’ll let you keep all your money. You just have to help me

get in. However, there are a few things you need to know

about your plan.

STEVEN

What exactly are you after?

JAKE
