SCENE 1 A messy, laid back domestic setting. Magazines cover the floor, burnt out cigarettes upon the tables and unwashed clothes line the unfilled spaces. A bed that has not been made for some time holds detective JACKSON STRINGER as he sleeps uncomfortably. An alarm goes off with a ear stinging sound. JACKSON STRINGER is already awake as he has not slept, he has a mild headache and gets ready with half the effort any normal person would put in. As he walks round the house he moves past photos of his divorced wife and deceased partner. A flashback to a gun being shot. JACKSON looks stressed as he leaves. SCENE 2 Crime scene in a local park. Thick mud surrounds the body, and police tape has already been put up. An officer, SARAH BARNES, stands outside the scene. JACKSON comes up with heavy steps towards SARAH. SARAH Badge please sir. JACKSON reaches into his pocket but looks disappointed in himself. SARAH Sir? JACKSON ...I must have left it at home. SARAH Sir, you know I cannot- JACKSON I know, but we've done this a thousand times before haven't we? SARAH I'm only trying to do my job sir. JACKSON looks at her with a heavy heart. SARAH (Mumbling) Go on through Jack, but this is the final time. JACKSON smirks and continues through under the tape. A body lies front first on the ground, JACKSON'S facial expressions signify that he finds the situation disgusting, but still he knows he must investigate. 1

Crime scene in a local park. Thick mud surrounds thebody, and police tape has already been put up. Anofficer, SARAH BARNES, stands outside the scene. JACKSONcomes up with heavy steps towards SARAH.

SARAHBadge please sir.

JACKSON reaches into his pocket but looks disappointed inhimself.

SARAHSir?

JACKSON...I must have left it at home.

SARAHSir, you know I cannot-

JACKSONI know, but we've done this athousand times before haven't we?

SARAHI'm only trying to do my job sir.

JACKSON looks at her with a heavy heart.

SARAH(Mumbling) Go on through Jack,but this is the final time.

JACKSON smirks and continues through under the tape.

JACKSON gets ready by putting on his gloves. JACKSONpicks up each hand of the body, looking for any signs ofstruggle. He reaches inside the jacket of the victim andJACKSON looks distressed as he pulls something out of theinside pocket.

It is his police badge.

JACKSON tries not to break down in front of SARAH as hetries to figure out what is going on.

Upon the hill above the crime scene, a man bearing a darkovercoat and scarf looks over the scene, focusing onJACKSON.
