This is what I started with, I did this by opening and dragging my chosen picture onto a new page.
I had to make a layer so I could add effects and changes to my picture without damaging the original.

For the second part I cut out the background and neatened out the end.
I used the magnetic lasso to cut out the back ground
I then used the paint brush to neaten up the edges and section I missed when I used the magnetic lasso

For the third stage I zoomed in on the eyes, I then used the sponge tool to highlight the middle sections of the eyes. Then I darkened the outlines of the lines and pupil of the eyes giving them a more life like effect.
