when my grandmother was still alive, she had

made photo albums of the family before I was

born. The pictures were taken between the

years of 1910 and 1970, they are mixed in with

pressed flowers, ribbons, birthday cards, wedding

invitations, and foot prints from baptisms. This

was my first encounter with scrapbooks. In

high school, my best friend gave me a scrapbook

filled with pictures, stickers and sharpie marker.

detailing our likes, dislikes, and all of the fun

times we had together.

I’ve never formally made a scrapbook, but I’ve been

assistant to many.

Scrapbooks are an artistic way of presenting

something. whether it be a memory, or a hobby, or

your best friend, or your life, or your family. I

invite everyone to try to make a scrapbook and

make one differently. Make one as chaotic or

simple as possible. It could be your next art

project, give it a try.

Georgi Georgiev

I am a Bulgarian born artist living in NYC for the last eight years. My interest is in creating images by using other images, changing context and subject matter. i adjust them

to what I need them to be rather than what they already are.

Yuri LeonovI am an llustration major. The subject matter

that intrigues me spans from highly personal

to cultural issues revolving primarily around

the struggle in life, and a pursuit of some idea

of beauty. Formal elements of my work include

juxtaposition of illusionism and flatness, as well

as dynamic composition.
