Meet EPA Requirements at Sulfur Content & Octane Quality 2017
Dear Colleague,
$11 billion of gasoline revenues rests on the industry's ability to uphold octane quality in the blend pool while meeting the EPA's new Tier 3 emissions regulations, which takes effect 1 January 2017.
A refiner's possible response to this challenge could be:
Add octane-enhancing FCC catalyst additivesSell light naphtha and make less finished gasolineSell more low-octane gasoline and less high-octane premium gasolineBuy or make costly high-octane components such as reformate and alkylateBuild a naphtha splitter and optimize existing reformer feed to increase pool octaneInstall LSR removal and an isom unit
But which route should you take?
With the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) Tier 3 rule lowering sulfur content from 30 ppm to 10 ppm mere weeks away, refiners are still evaluating the options to achieving Tier 3 requirements.
Sulfur Content and Octane Quality 2017 (30-31 March 2017, Houston) is your conference to meet the EPA's new Tier 3 emissions regulations for gasoline while taking advantage of increasingly available light naphtha.
See you in Houston!
